I noticed a small tweak to the overworld "escort the spirit" event. Even something as small as not making the player wait through the "yoU leFt mE alOOOOOne" dialog to start hitting the ghost makes the event feel so much better to do. Wish they'd add some extra lines though, kinda sick of hearing that one.

I hit T4 on my Barb and I'm considering trying out a basic attack/pox build on rogue. You can get some pretty crazy attack speed from vamp powers and I figure rogue will lend itself to boosting poison damage to scale the pox.

I think the obstacle to making basic attack speed builds work is going to be overcoming the huge scaling difference between a basic skill with 5 ranks and a core skill with 9. Skill ranks are one of the biggest multipliers left on gear

Mid 20s to.mid 30s are the worst for skill power I feel. Your gear isn't being replaced as quickly as the previous levels, but is still turning over fast enough that you're probably not upgrading, you may not be rocking all legendaries and are still far from your paragon boards.

Oh is this why letting Overkill roll 3-4 Ranks on Deathblow led to people being able to reliably Overpower with DB for like, a 100million damage?

Possibly, I haven't really looked at how the Overpower calculations are supposed to work since the change. It never used to scale off base skill damage so I'm not surprised they hosed it up

The 20-40 grind is the worst for sure, I get upgrades regularly but you feel stuck in whatever build you're at until you get in the 40s it seems like.

1-35/40 is a breeze for me, but 40-50 is probably the biggest slog because the enemy HP is outpacing your damage gains. Then once you can pop into WT3 and grab a sacred weapon you can start mulching stuff again.

That also might be my own fault because I always play on WT2 instead of the optimized path.

Same and same, for me. The pseudo-helltide zones did make it go much faster this time tho I just randomly found a party farming the vamps and did it in like an hour or two. Big zoomies and it was a ton of fun

I had this happen when I first played the game at release, and the same seems to hold true now - I get into WT3, almost immediately get an ilvl 720ish weapon, and then from then on nothing drops that's remotely as good. Which, fine, it's nice to get a strong weapon quickly. But it's a scythe when I want a 2H sword. Is there a way to target higher item level stuff, or is it a matter of hoping to get lucky from whisper caches etc?

they added the new mechanic that the higher level the thing you’re fighting the higher the floor and ceiling of ilvl of their drops are. this is mostly to encourage running high level NMD though so in your situation, no not much. world bosses, whispers, vampire loot fountain, anything with high volume and hope to get lucky

As of season 2, that staff is part of Varshan's loot table. That's the best way to target farm it.

ah that makes sense thank you. I have only just started running NMDs and haven't done a world boss yet so I assume I've just grabbed the ones I have so far from treasure goblins during vampire zones.

Speaking of nightmare dungeons I just had an incredibly annoying thing happen I've never encounted before. I was running oldstones and I got to the part where you have to kill animus carriers and seemingly not enough animus carriers spawned for me to fill the jar. I went back and forth several times making sure I hadn't missed any pathways or tiny rooms off a main path and cracked the shits and left. Maybe I am just missing it but if I am it is very well hidden. I kind of hope its just a weird bug where I didn't pick up the animus and it despawned or something rather than an actual lack of animus carriers. Anyone else ever had this?

animus can also spawn outside the map if you kill the carrier too close to the wall and get some bad luck. happens

Yeah this has happened on every character I've played since release. Not sure it was ever confirmed but there was a theory that the rng is tilted toward giving you a high ilvl weapon soon after hitting a new world tier, but that you go back to regular pure RNG once it does. There was some discussion about getting that freebie roll again if you trash all your sacred weapons or hide them on another character, but I haven't tried it.

This explains the ungodly staff I got immediately after hitting WT4 in season one. Then it was lost to the fun problem created by inexplicably giving you the ability to equip items in a vendor screen but with opposite controls. I never found anything close from 65-90.

lev. 51 chain lightning sorc reporting in. my highest character ever, I think? I maybe had something like this at release but did not push wt3 then.

I've done all the relevant aspect dungeons for the build, done the s2 full questline, got every vamp power except for the last one from blood harvest, done the first NM dungeon, got renown level 3 gifts from all zones, and completed the first 3 tiers of season journey. got a decent level 50ish sacred legendary staff. I guess not much to do now except farm legion / blood harvest / helltides until I can efficiently clear wt3 NM dungeons?

blood harvest zones are fun, horse is better in s2, and sorcs are way better compared to release or s1 start. game is more fun now. not perfect, but much better.

I admit I'd like an near total afk/no-button-mashing build but that's a constant complaint of mine with arpgs.

Anyone else been having their necro skellies disappear and refuse to resummon? Happened twice, once in a blood harvest and once outside Caldeum. The indicator said 0 were summoned but we couldn't get any to summon from corpses. Then after a while they just kind of reappeared.

Just respecced to Pulv and hit 61. Managed to easily clear the WT4 capstone and did a run of chests in the blood harvest area. Upgraded 4 items into ancestral.

Pulverize is really broken. I’m destroying screens full of lvl 75s at lvl 61 and rarely at risk of dying. I can’t believe that crone is equal tier with this. Gonna be wild what I can do once I find that staff.

I've rolled a barb this season and have to say it didnt feel overly different to a s0 Pulv druid in basic playstyle i.e. spam your generator until enough resource then use your Core skill....maybe a little more powerful with the extra skill points and stats from the rep grind

More end game stuff would be nice but it wasn't painful levelling at all really and not having to grind rep to get the extra paragon points is great

Dungeons still suck, I mean I love running dungeons in most games like this, but most of these are too repetitive and the back tracking through an empty dungeon sucks the enjoyment out of it at times, just give me the rifts from D3

Ehhhh?
Rolled a Twisting Blades Rogue after playing a Bone Spear Necro in S1 and as good as the Necro was, a full poison build Rogue with Accursed Touch and Prey on the Weak just melts everything on the screen in seconds. Hit imbue poison, twist blades on the nearest mob and then Shadow Step to the furthest and then everything in between either dies from the poison or the exploding souls run out and finish the job.

I also noticed that my video card is running cooler than in S1; most of the time it was sitting about 80 degrees C but now even in the most crowded open world area or dungeon, I haven't hit higher that 70 degrees.
