I mean the fundamental problem with bombs vs tunnels is that in most cases even if you did destroy a tunnel you don’t know because the entire area is an undifferentiated mass of rubble from the air, and even if you are sure you destroyed a tunnel you have no idea how many tunnels you didn’t destroy because definitionally any tunnels you didn’t hit and collapse are still invisible to aerial surveillance. so they can’t avoid going in on foot even if they bomb for weeks or months because they simply can’t be sure how many tunnels are left and how many people are left alive in them.
