I know trainspotting is a thing and even bus-spotting, I had a classmate when I was a teen that used to go out to the bus-stop during break and write down the buses he saw in a notepad, he was pretty excited when my town introduced new buses. An old man smoking a pipe watching the process walked up to talk to me and we chatted a bit while waiting for the bus to arrive. The schadenfreude was on me later that day, since I forgot about a text I got a week before about district heating being cut off, because it was summer and it was completely irrelevant up until the point where I tried washing my hands a little while after 6pm and realized I had no hot water. Of course at that point I was merely in the planning stages of taking a shower while presumably everyone else in the building had figured out what no district heating water means since the heater tank was clearly emptied out by that point. At least I didn't find out while stepping into the shower.
