On "amazing human effort" chat, I want to go to see Opus 40 one day, it's only a few hours away. It's a colossal art project by one man, Harvey Fite, who spent 37 years doing earth art by himself. He was killed while riding a power lawnmower around the project and fell off a 12' precipice. He did just about all of it by hand and by himself, though I read that he got some help from neighbors moving that 9 ton pillar.
