As a palette cleanser, Dwemer Pipework Reworked. An ESP-less Replacer that adds animation and glowing bits to the Dwemer pipes in the game. Looks really nice in action.

Later on, playing other games there were things it did like having multiple species on a planet and minor races that felt wrong not being there. Still a terrible game

In short, Dwemer Pipeworks Reworked is a land of contrasts. It's nice that it's espless so you can just disable it without loving your save.

It goes all the way back to the early editions of the game, first showing up in 1992's Chromebook Vol. 2, which Pondsmith wrote himself. They're called exotics, and the mod actually looks fairly faithful to the lore. Apparently there's a gangoon exotic ingame, a guy with crocodile skin, but it's genuinely kind of weird that you don't see a lot more people running around with tails and cat ears. One of the few cases where the furry fandom modding anthros into every possible game actually improves the lore-accuracy of said game.
