All of Team Cherry were killed in a tragic drop bear attack and the Australian government is covering it up.

No Dignity posted:This has been my theory, Hollow Knight was already bloated and I wouldn't be surprised if with the extra budget and freedom they're doubling down on the insane scale Reminds me of a pixel roguelike dungeon crawler I backed on Kickstarter years ago that is still in active development and still not out after years of development. I've kinda been ignoring the update emails but happened to read the last one, and it was talking about them reworking caravans that move on the world map and being able to found outposts or something. Give (relatively) inexperienced devs too much money and time to work on their dream project, and chances are good you get insane feature creep and the desire to try to chase perfection far too long.

On my third playthrough I got the <5 hour achievement without even trying very hard and a pretty minimal amount of route planning. The game's not bloated, its just got lots to explore and tons of optional stuff, which is normal for metroidvanias

You keep saying the devs are metaphorically hanging themselves with bloat and are coming up with an imaginary scenario where this is the one project on earth that should have been unaffected by a pandemic that messed up everyone's lives for years. It's a video game that's been delayed a few months.

???? But even in the "best weathered countries" covid still affected all sorts of things? Like mental health. Sometimes physical health if you're unlucky. Infrastructure was hit. Economy. Even if your livelihood was secure, maybe not your partner's. Family's. Friends'. And even if all of that is okay, maybe you preferred working in an office. Or at least, a place away from home. Or in varying environments.

If they had to stop working on the game for two years because of the novel coronavirus then I think that still counts as development being troubled.
