The Nazi language was "rein" as in clean, but here it's "rein" as in exclusively. The alternatives listed in that article sound much worse to me.

"richtige Deutsche" and "echte Deutsche" are indeed steeped with racism and cultural chauvinism, but they're in current parlance, just like you'd hear in English "true Americans" or "real Americans" "rein" has a historical meaning associated with Aryan race pseudoscience, and a professional politician would know better than to put that word in front of "Deutchen" e: plus "nur" is much clearer, as is "lediglich" and "bloß" Berliner Zeitung uncritically reproduced Feldman's quote and sense of "rein" as in "[racially] pure" webcams for christ has issued a correction as of 12:25 on Nov 14, 2023 |

Using “rein” in the word sequence used by the politician implies a lack of purity or cleanliness. The most charitable interpretation is that that politician’s command of the German language is a bit poo poo.

If you want to say that your job isn't only touching computers you could say "ich bin kein reiner Programmierer" without it sounding awkward at all. Maybe that's a regional difference, but I'd certainly use it like this.

Danish government's parliamentary majority was wobbly for a few days as one of the Moderates' MP's was discovered having a "romantic relationship" with a child half his age, which led to his exclusion from the party. He is now shopping around for a new party, but they've all so far refused him, even the Social Democrats whose Foreign Minister until December 2022 had done literally the exact same thing with a child the exact same age (15) in 2008. He has also been reported to the police for grooming, but it's doubtful anything will come of it since her parents are apparently cool with the whole thing.
