I'd like to point out that one CG where the Sinners and Dante are on exercise bikes as being very good and I can't wait to see it in context, and also hope that this chapter won't be 100% doom and gloom because it's clearly intended to be comical

Outis is standing bossing everyone else, Heathcliff is pissed off, Don is excited, Rodya is just slacking off, Ryoshu is annoyed. It's great.

I handled RR2 dread by realizing that I’m no longer enjoying playing the game much and kind of stepping away. I might play through the story of Canto V because the story/characters are pretty cool and that plus sunk cost kept me playing till the end of s2, but I might be better off watching the plot on YT in a week or whatever.

Overall, I actually enjoyed it (shocking, I know), mostly due to having more or less a solid plan (1 cycle per day, with 0-1 on Sunday and 4-5 today, finish each fight within 5 turns or less) and already knowing about gimmick of each fight, which made things actually manageable and not too frustrating. Some thoughts

Yeah, I did feel like it made me a better player, by virtue of actually forcing me to pay attention to the mechanics of the fights and what my sinners could do for that fight. I still don't really want to do it again. I actually didn't mind Steam Transport Machine like the majority seemed to, but having the Fox be one of the three abnormalities you always fight was godawful. Gregor's skillset looks interesting, it's a mixture of bleed and poise and a dabbing of ammo and a special stack that you get by hitting enemies with bleed and it gives a bonus damage to the gun. I don't know how well it works out in practice, but I'd want pirate Gregor anyway.

Update just finished, decided to checkout the xp and lunacy stuff first. we have a new xp ticket which is worth 3x the xp of the gold ones. the new xp stage gives out 9000 xp vs the old ones 4800 xp, but costs 1 more enk box. doing the math of xp per enk module, were getting about 25% more xp per module. The new thread level is 8 thread for the same cost, so about a 33% increase per module. however, the fight for gloom is against the bull, which is much more of a time sink and can't really be auto'd through like the previous ones. I can see this getting really tedious to get through, hope they tone the bull down in the future. Also of note, both levels have 6 participants instead of 5.

finally a new gregor id that isn't defensive, about time he was back on th oh god it's poise. and dogshit coin counts. He also has some wacky status thing for a passive for extra damage but has the Blade Yi Sang issue of needing to crit on a specific hit of a specific attack to get anything out of Poise overall. Ryoshu is also poise and seems completely aimlessly designed. also her support hilariously buffs R Heathcliff, of all people overall a true return to poise form

Fun With U Corp the lakes have an absurdly specific set of rules to cross them in order to not get eaten by a hell monster. also, writing down these rules is forbidden and u corp can and has hunted people down and killed them for doing so

I'm pretty sure I know what the deal with the Whales (and thus Moby Dick) is. They're the results of U Corps Singularity interacting with living fish, each Whale is a horrific abomination fusion of untold numbers of a species of other sea-creature. A Marlin Whale is a Whale made of Marlin etc. As such, Moby Dick, the Great White Whale, is either made out of sharks, or other (normal) whales. This is just a guess to be clear, from like, the 5th node of the chapter.
