I love people that take the time to build these complicated rope and pulley systems, but then like.. don't measure the oil, choose a good location, or fully thaw the turkey. I realize the videos are examples created to flame up but they are very much indicative of things that thousands of people do when they fry a turkey.

If any kind of safety shield doesn't occur to you, taking extra time to thaw the turkey probably doesn't either.

The pulley and rope is purely to safely demonstrate the wrong way. You usually just use a hook and a silicone gauntlet. Works for turkey frying too.
