Been reading Karakida-ke no Koshogurashi ("Living in an antiquarian bookstore of the Karakida family") lately. Found it through one of the intererest lists of a MAL user who's gone full sicko and obsessively categorized every manga known to man according to setting and theme. This is the one that got my attention from the "mangas set in a bookstore" list. Anyway, the english translation only has a few chapters out but the Spanish version's way ahead, so I've been reading that one. So far it's got a nice balance of chill family dynamics running a shabby second-hand bookstore and some drama brewing on the side. Quite recommended and I'm definitely not vicariously living my bookstore life fantasies through it.

Dang, that looks right up my alley. Didn’t even have to look at the author to know that’s Toume Kei, a really wonderful seinen mangaka who penned Sing Yesterday For Me (and a buttload of other generally really good seinen bittersweet romances). Already hit bookmark, I’ll read it when I can.

Also maybe if I find the time / effort I’ll actually go back through the OP and add things people have recommended over the last … poo poo, 5ish years?

Yeah I'd ordered last August. Vol 3 is listed for a release date this August so we'll see if they've caught up from whatever got them behind.

"haha, dogs can't smoke!"

The art in this is good, but it is very funny that this fairly anodyne comic about nature photography also features a woman with boobs the size of a family car.

An uncountable number, to be sure.
That series is terrifying because I am afraid that at any moment they could drop one of those expensive cameras.

The school really should consider giving Fushimi a raise since she's not just a janitor but a counselor herself. That was a nice chapter, I'm rooting for Mr. Basketball going into the future.

in the past week i've found two (2) series of roughly the same length, both explicitly centered around nude modeling for artists. some real armageddon/deep impact vibes here. i think they're both interesting enough though:

Sora wo Matotte/Wear the Sky

weird dude is obsessed with nude paintings but only in a single-minded "for the beauty" way, obviously creeps out everyone else. mysterious figure from his past sets him on the path to become a real painter. the art is nice and i like the character above, curious to see where it all goes.

Season of Alabaster

weird dude is into street art and graffiti and hates nudity! but then a weird hot teacher is all about nude modeling and inspires him to do more, etc. i really love this mangaka's artstyle and i'm dying to see their other works translated, but for now this will have to do. it's not as straightforward as the other one but it's extremely well done imo.

you may be shocked to learn that that's a lot of rude titties in these, so be advised when you're reading them at work or whatever

been attending figure drawing sessions for years and it's the least erotic thing imaginable. like everyone thinks it's about sharing intimacy through lingering glances but it's actually about internally screaming "how the gently caress do knees work" and ruining the only good sketch you did because you thought it'd look good with an acrylic outline
