When browsing Chinese reddit some posts said they revived the Myanmar Communist branding a couple years ago, like around 19. In some of the photos you can see some fighters with their patches. I don't know if this is the case of Russia soldiers putting red army patches on themselves. Everything is hush hush because Beijing doesn't want to admit they support any of the northern factions. Beijing still does business with the junta government as well. So a lot of news coming from unofficial channels you are not sure how much you can trust them. Reading the lives of people living in border regions of Myanmar you get the feeling that having a united and stable government makes a huge material difference in people who live in the same continental Southeast Asia peninsula.

If I remember corretly there was an issue with border skirmishes and such starting to impact Chinese towns across the border, leading to them stepping in to support the cpb for a more reliable border

they seem to be the exception to china cutting off all support to Maoists abroad since they give more immediate benefits being on the border and they seem to be way better positioned to be part of whatever coalition topples the junta if it happens than the cpp or naxalites
