It makes the brawl a lot better. A deck full of portals is the boring kind of random bullshit and being able to trim it down to a handful of cards is much more interesting and fun.

The Brewmasters were from an earlier iteration when the other player didn’t play Steamcleaner; however I could still see a use for them in case they held one back or you really wanted to load their deck with Helya’s plagues.

Yeah, I've been really hating it, regardless of mode. Tired of these apparently untested, poorly thought out releases, it's almost as hosed as the Galakrond release.

I've been using totem shaman to bang out my weeklies and it's been good enough and super speedy.

I threw in a load of nagas and the saloon guys that can return the sharpshooter to hand at the end of turn so they dont get murked by angry opponents, Zola works well in this deck too. schoolteacher naga works for a cheap naga when you dont have sharpshooter in play. In “Huh, that’s weird” news, five cards are getting nerfed tomorrow — not because of power level concerns, but because they cause so many bugs and strange corner case interactions that Blizzard’s gotten sick of dealing with them. Those five cards are: Fate Splitter, Monstrous Parrot, Counterfeit Blade, Dwarven Archaelogist, and Madam Goya. The Parrot especially is a tragic loss, as that enabled some fun stuff.

The reworked version of all of these cards are pretty much useless, so feel free to dust them — but the dust refunds don’t go live until the next hotfix patch even though the changes go live tomorrow, so hold off until then.

The thing is, no one outside the dev team really knows because no one played it. I assume there were less cool bugs and more bugs like "if this tries to pull a colossal minion, the game crashes when it tries to summon the sub-unit" or "titans don't get their abilities if they're put on the battlefield as you shuffle a different minion into your deck" that they busted their rear end to fix that weren't worth the effort because no one's playing the card in the first place.

EDIT: There's actual footage of the problems? Huh. Well, you get the idea.

New Battlegrounds seems cool (but it always does day 1, lol). Individual card balance aside, spells in the tavern hit a nice balance of where they change up the game a lot but don't feel super disruptive. I could see this being a permanent addition, maybe without the clause where one appears every refresh.

Dev Comment: The following cards are being adjusted not because of their power levels, but because they disproportionately cause bugs and other gameplay issues, which can be disruptive for players and time consuming to correct. These changes mitigate those problems and help future-proof these cards for updates going forward. I think it's basically just to do with various app stores having their own approval process for patches, which at least for Apple sometimes take several days. Fairly recently within the last couple years, Blizzard shifted some things around so that they could make emergency server-side changes to card functionality without having to submit a patch and go through the approval process. For anything else to happen (i.e. refunds available etc) it has to land in an actual pass. Guessing they made this decision after today's patch was already approved and en route.
