Kind of annoyed how much my period and just the idea of being fertile triggered my gender dysphoria, it hasn't been that bad in a long while. I don't really hate having a female body, but I hate it doing female things and acting all reproductive. Gross.

Big same. I spent yeeeeeaaaaarrrss dysphoric over the idea people knew I had a period rather than the period itself. Periods are just a bodily function, but the social idea of a period is shamed to begin with then toss my dysphoria on top of that. Dreadful. Probably part of what held me back getting medical help.

I had the last 2 periods each come a week early (both were fairly sad short affairs barely lasting 2 days) and marked google calendar as such trying to keep track of what was going to happen. Then last week when I was due, nothing. Just hormonal mood fuckery. Yesterday morning I took my bra off for bed and my boobs kind of went BADOIING out, feeling huge and sore out of nowhere and I knew it wouldn’t be long. Work up with a face full of pimples and blood in my pants. Wonder if one of my ovaries is doing 3 weeks now and the other one still does 4 weeks? This period did line up with one of the old ones as it was already there on the calendar, I have to write “expecting” and “actual” so I have a record of where to count from. I used to be able to feel the mid cycle pang and tell if it was left or right but that has not happened for a long time. Finger slipped when I was taking my cup out and I lost grip, the cup fully opened half way out and I managed to give myself a painful slurp trying to get it unstuck. I love my rigid moon cup over the soft squishy Luna cups because it’s usually so much easier to get in and out but I do wonder sometimes if my technique is completely wrong. Actually I don’t think I’ve smelled my own blood at all since I started using cups and washable pads, even when it was crusty brown old dregs or super fresh runny red blood.

Hopefully at some point in my life, it will stick in my brain that being extra horny & having sex dreams "out of god drat nowhere" means PMS

Cowslips Warren posted:does anyone else get the extreme paranoia that other people can smell your period? like clearly we all use public restrooms and I never have ever smelled it, only the usual nasty poo poo when a toilet is clogged or people don't shower and it's all BO but it seems that every period I am sure everyone can just see a loving Pigpen odor around me. I rarely ever say this to anyone, but I think I can always smell periods. It's metallic, distinctive. Or at least sometimes, I suppose. Maybe it's situational. For the record, guy here.

Wow I have never had such tender breasts on a cycle before. It’s actually goddamn distracting. I don’t even menstruate anymore, why are my hormones acting up? I have my annual exam so I hope it’s mercifully short because of my hysterectomy. And maybe they can tell me why everything is so sore right now!

Welp, won’t know the biopsy results til next week but the surgeon was like “yep, uterus has gotta go” so unless circumstance pushes it back I’m yeeting the bitch on the 12th (along with the tubes which is standard these days). This is what happens when you consort with trickster gods! I’m scared but also kind of? Excited? Or at least interested in the sense of despite the (low) risk of surgery I’ve never done one before and I have genuine interest in the process. I doubt they’ll give me an epidural but in a perfect world I’d stay awake and ask to see the camera feed from the robot because the more I understand the science of the process the less scared I am. I’m just hoping for no bad reaction to anesthesia and timeskip my way into saying something ridiculous in recovery. PS: biopsy did not hurt at all because I learned there’s no nerves on the cervix. My mass is sticking out of the “nostril” so it was easy for her to get the sample. She described it like a potato in there. I guess it’s true what mom said about eating too much of one thing!

So I made an appointment with my OBGYN to get my IUD replaced and a pap smear done (am gonna be knocked the gently caress out for this). The receptionist asked if I had any recent weight gain (possibly a pregnancy thing??) I told them I had lost weight actually. Lol I barely have had contact with anything that could get me knocked up in years.

I wish I could spin mine around by the tubes that are also being removed and fling it into the biohazard bin. Make it a post-op game where I win a free follow-up if I make it in, like a three pointer

It's been below freezing for the past few days and I've been riding the cotton pony and I'm so cold and tired I want to crawl into the matrix goo and rest for a few days.

The cramps are VICIOUS this time Also I learned about retrograde menstruation and maybe I had that? And that's why my periods feel different after having my fallopian tubes removed and sealed off

Did anyone get weird period effects from COVID? I'm sick with it right now and my period not only came early, but it's super watery. It's just like, pink water. I've never had a period so thin and devoid of... content.

I'm on spiro now for my PCOS and they warned me it's a diuretic and I had to watch for dehydration. But I already drink a stupid amount of water and have to pee all the time as a result so this did not worry me. However it appears to have pulled all the water out of my colon specifically because the only side effect I'm experiencing is absolute brick shits. This is the literal opposite of what's normally wrong with me. Why are my garbage guts incapable of responding normally to any stimulus whatsoever??

I had my first transvaginal ultrasound today, hopefully the last. It was for my hysterectomy. I know that for most people it doesn't hurt, but for me, it sure did. I think I have an overly sensitive cervix. My IUD procedures were so painful I can't even put it into words. Edge of losing consciousness, vomiting, and I know I'm tough against pain with all the crazy injuries and accidents I've had in my life. Cervix pain, however? Stabbing me and twisting the knife would hurt less. I spent half the day with significant cramping afterwards. It's lightened up quite a lot now thankfully.

If yall have super heavy flows and only wear pads, there is a good chance folks can smell it. It isn't strong, so don't stress too much, but it IS distinct. (Vageeper-haver here.) I grew up with a heavy flow friend and cousin, and was aware of their affliction status right up until they both got on regular birth control. I'm also a somewhat heavy bleeder, but wear tampons... the feeling that people can smell it is still there, but no one has ever mentioned it to me. Hellish periods have started to overtake regular moderate ones enough that I've been concerned about it (but no insurance, so lol), but last month was so drat chill I barely noticed it (aside from da bludd). Nice obv, but incredibly out of the norm! Lined up for a red xmas next

If anyone questions my bathroom time I just say I have a heavy flow this week. It does smell. I can smell it. It doesn't smell bad per say...one of the few uses of that phrase. Wipe as mutch as you can, it's still there. It smells like struck iron, metallic, when your wrench slips. Hard to explain. I never had PMS before the implant. Yaknow how some people try to compare period cramps to getting kicked in the balls? I never thought that was a fair phrase. It's like you have dihoreah and your guts all cramp at once. Bathroom now, please and thank you later.

Yep, it’s a rarity but if a mass ends up being a teratoma they can have teeth and hair because there’s all kinds of random cells. They can be anywhere in the body. Humans are poo poo at making pearls. It’s YEETERUS TIME (I’m waiting in check in) SulfurMonoxideCute posted:I had my first transvaginal ultrasound today, hopefully the last. Good luck with the yeeting! I got mine out last January (Jesus it’s almost been a whole year) and have never once regretted it. I hope recovery is swift and easy! I think my hardest day was the one of the surgery because the anesthesia had me so nauseated. Then it was six weeks of sitting on my rear end, which isn’t that big of an ask lol.

Thank you so much everyone!!! I lived bitch! And also down one ovary to boot (which I agreed to previously if there were issues). Surgeon told my sister it was “funky” so I can’t wait to learn in what way, I hope they remembered to take photos. Consequently that’s the most achy incision. I also learned morphine and norco makes me quite sick so gently caress that poo poo. I do not understand the appeal when robaxin and ketorolac are right there.
