Werder Bremen is currently one goal down against Bayern Munich after Bayern were gifted a goal after 2 minutes that should be have been ruled off for interference with the goal keeper.

Also its absolutely pouring down and they got a really good commentator covering the match.

It's always the defender's fault with this kind of goals.

Funny thing is that United were actually really good for most of the match. They just crumbled completely in that one minute.

Sofia Huerta, Alyssa Naeher, Ashley Sanchez, Becky Sauerbrunn, Crystal Dunn, Andi Sullivan and Alex Morgan are out of USNWT. It was the interim manager's decision but she consulted Emma Hayes beforehand and if anyone's surprised about this - don't be. Hayes has absolutely zero mercy when changing the squad to her vision.

ASK ME ABOUT LUMBER

i am weirdly stoked about brann's prospects of making it out of the group stage. the first half against slavia praha was really quite convincing (i'm also willing to accept heavy november rains as a reason for not being able to maintain their intensity through the second half), and if we can avoid losing 9-0 to lyon we should be in with a shout for goal difference even if we don't repeat the endeavour in prague

chelsea ruined my idea of a good time, but at least roma did their duty.

brann seems solid as hell and they got a great shot at making it through the group stage relatively unscathed

just now learning that the 2 teams in the final (or whoever wins 3rd place if france is a finalist) qualify for the olympics

and england's position determines whether team GB qualify in that regard (so wales + scotland don't count)

and england are currently level on points with netherlands (+1 and +4 GD respectively)

and england's last game is against scotland who are finishing bottom of the group regardless

that said i looked up team GB from the last olympics and it was almost entirely english bar 3 scots and 1 welsh. i imagine it would be similar this time around?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_at_the_2020_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Women%27s_team_squads#Great_Britain

e: though it looks like netherlands winning mean england's hosed regardless due to uefa's tiebreaker rules

e2: galaxybrained myself 3 peronis deep: https://documents.uefa.com/r/Regula...ue-stage-Online

england can win the group on goal difference. that would require scotland giving up which is probably unlikely though. unless they come to a ladies' agreement where they try really hard for 89 minutes then allow england to score as many goals as possible

The answer is, mate, because I want to do you slowly. There has to be a bit of sport in this for all of us. In the psychological battle stakes, we are stripped down and ready to go. I want to see those ashen-faced performances; I want more of them. I want to be encouraged. I want to see you squirm.
My main complaint with Gustavsson during the World Cup was that he didn’t rotate the squad enough, and the first teamers basically just ran out of puff in the semifinal.

Watching this game, I’m starting to understand why…

There's a very weird situation in the Nations League. Tomorrow's the last round and NL this year is about getting into Paris Olympics.

Group A has this beauty of a table:

Scotland is hosting England and to play in the Olympics they (Scotland) have to lose at least 4-0. It's all because they play together in Team GB at the Olympics and, unlike in men's football, the Olympic tournament is pretty much a World Cup Redux because there is no U23+seniors rule here. It could get hilarious if Netherlands start beating on Belgium and Scotland will have to concede more goals.

Also, Poland's playing Greece tomorrow and they need at least a draw to win their group and move to division A.

To sum up:
- Netherlands, Germany and Spain are playing for the Olympic qualifications in February. France are already there as hosts but they're still playing in the finals because they won their group anyway. Europe gets three teams at the Olympics so if France win these 'playoffs' there will be a tasty battle for the third place;
- Republic of Ireland, Finland, Poland and Czech Republic move up to League A

:poland: :finland: and whatever smilie there is for McCabe

- Switzerland, Portugal, Scotland and Wales got relegated to League B
