This is Itzhak Brick, who's been critical of the IDF's performance for a long time. He practically prophesied October 7th last year and called out the military's ground forces for being trash.

I don't have time to do it exactly line by line right now but he basically says:

* We've been inside Gaza for quite some time.
* We control about 80% of the north.
* We're still far from our goal of destroying Hamas and the PIJ due to the tunnels built underneath the strip
* The numbers of enemy casualties being reported are probably not quite accurate, but even if the IDF killed a few thousands, there's still tens of thousands more underground, which is the main issue
* If we still haven't gotten to most of the guys in the tunnels, then we're clearly very far from finishing this
* Just yesterday [at the time the interview was done] Hamas released hostages inside in an area that the IDF "controls", surrounded by Gazans, despite our boasting about the situation being under control
* Khan Younis will be even more difficult to crack
* At the moment, it's being estimated that the IDF hit 20% of the tunnels, but by "hit" we mean that the engineer corps blow up the shafts, we don't want to send soldiers in there to clear them out because we don't want to risk people and they could be booby trapped
* let's say we blew up 200 or 300 of these - they've got thousands more exits to get out of
* In conclusion, once again, we're very far from our objective

The belief that Israel's war crimes in Gaza and the West Bank today are a result of "the most extreme and far-right government in Israel's history" is a figment of the liberal imagination. Decades of colonial rule by Israel's political left and centre belies this myth.

The main architect of the 1948 Nakba when 800,000 Palestinians were ethnically cleansed, was David Ben Gurion, who led the Mapai (Workers' Party of Israel) before it merged with the Labor Party in 1968. For Ben Gurion, Socialism and Zionism were two sides of the same coin.

Prime Minister Levi Eshkol, also a member of Mapai and founder of the Labor Party, prosecuted the 1967 Six-Day War (al-Naksa) which resulted in Israel's occupation of Arab and Palestinian lands including the West Bank (including East Jerusalem), Gaza, Sinai and the Golan.

Shimon Peres, who was a Labor PM, oversaw Israel's occupation of Lebanon including Beirut, in the mid-1980s. Again in 1996, he commandeered Israel's "Operation Grapes of Wrath" invasion which displaced tens of thousands and massacred 106 civilians at a UN camp in Qana.

Labor PM and Nobel Prize-winning "peacenik", Yitzak Rabin, was behind Israel's 1993 invasion of Lebanon, "Operation Accountability". According to HRW, the aim was "to effect a massive displacement of the civilian population in south Lebanon" as a means of pressuring Lebanon.

The 2006 July War was led by leader of the liberal centrist Kadima, Ehud Olmert, and Amir Peretz, head of Labor, was Defense Minister at the time. Olmert also oversaw Israeli 2008 invasion of Gaza, "Operation Cast Lead", with Labor leader, Ehud Barak, as his Defense Minister.

The list of invasions doesn't include the left's countless other crimes and abuses. The main difference between Israel's left and right is that the former "kills the victim and cries at his funeral" as the Arab saying goes, while the latter kills the victim and brags about it.

“if you take into account the fact that hamas terrorists don't wear uniforms (not because they don't have them, as we've seen in 7/10) and that they've used UN ambulances to move around than it's really a coin flip for every male.. sadly, they also don't really have a minimal age (as seen in the west bank and also occasionally in gaza's checkpoints)..

Imagine almost getting the point but the. just accepting the company line away, in both cases. The former medic (loving babytalk MOS?) particularly just casually mentions seeing war crimes but then ends on “you know, the fog of war. Who can say who’s at fault? “

Reddit is like 90% astroturfing in any political sub, and upvoting is an important part of narrative control (because downvoted posts are hidden automatically and upvoted posts are moved higher up the page and so are seen by more people).

Don't try to wrap your head around it as anyone's genuine beliefs, look at it as what the state wants white male computer touchers to think 'the consensus' is on the topic.

Anyone who starts by not recoiling in horror at official reporting saying 2 in 3 deaths are civilians is not going to have anything good to say.

The fun thing about the official line is that it does literally nothing to justify the unjustifiable, so people who use that as an excuse for wanton slaughter are really easy to dismiss.
