Yeah, but you know I know you're a Habs and Avs fan, and you know I know I have to post about it now. Wear your shame, you cretin.

I root for the Tigers in baseball but I look at Chris Illitch being completely uninterested in fielding a competitive team, and then I look at the Blue Jays being in the mix for Shohei Ohtani, and that might be enough to tip the scales.

The wings have been bad long enough that we don’t even have substantial rivalries anymore. I couldn’t imagine a team you’re a fan of making anyone bat an eye, unless of course you say like the 1996 Colorado Avalanche specifically.

I am considering going because I'm from Minnesota, but I would be paying a hefty sum for some clownball.

I still dislike the Avs, but also I've fallen way off of Detroit pro sports besides the Lions since I moved out of state. Probably for the best.

The only thing you can really hold against him at this point is the 2021 draft class (which might be one of the worst Packers drafts in the franchise history, up there with Sherman's 2004). Everything else has been acceptable to very good.

Yeah he's a good GM and largely has been his whole tenure. Even outside his drafting he's consistently found players on practice squads or released onto waivers that have turned into key contributors. Biggest miss FA wise was Jimmy Graham, but he also signed a bunch of longer term players (Amos, Turner, Z. Smith and P. Smith).

This draft has been an excellent class with a couple of excellent trades.

Packers traded No. 45 to Lions for No. 48 and No. 159

Packers then traded No. 48 to Buccaneers for No. 50 and No. 179

No. 50 - Jayden Reed
No. 159 - Dontayvion Wicks
No. 179 - Karl Brooks

Lions took Brian Branch with 45, so they're happy. Bucs took Cody Mauch with 48, who is this guy and I have no idea how he's playing:

The 2018 draft was pretty bad; it only resulted in Jaire and MVS. 2019 is a little better with Gary, Jenkins, and (the middling) Savage. 2020 looked like a loving horrendous draft but if Love is good that'll save it (him + Dillon + Runyan). 2021 is rough with a lot of low-grade starters/backups (Stokes, Myers, Newman, Slaton). So, there aren't any drafts that are just total whiffs but there were several in a row that only brought between 2-4 starters (and not always good starters).

However, the 2022 and 2023 drafts are shaping up to both be kind of sick:

2022 draft starters: Quay Walker (1st), Wyatt (1st), Watson (2nd), Doubs (4th), Tom (4th), Rasheed Walker (7th)
2022 draft key backups: Rhyan (3rd), Enagbare (5th)
2023 draft starters: Musgrave (2nd), Reed (2nd), Carlson (6th), Valentine (7th)
2023 draft key backups: Van Ness (1st), Kraft (3rd), Wicks (5th), Brooks (6th), Johnson Jr. (7th)

I agree that '22 and '23 have looked good so far but also at the same time they're getting a ton of playing time *because* there aren't veterans on the roster who would typically get spots ahead of them. Granted, a big part of this is the Rodgers dead cap.

Oh, I didn't mean interesting as in I didn't believe him. I was just thinking about how many players on this team have had nagging issues with their hamstrings over the last couple decades. If Watson can fix it by strengthening his back I wonder if that will work for others as well.
