The left controller for my Quest 2 has stopped working :( I was playing Thrill of the Fight and it suddenly couldn't detect the controller anymore and nothing I do seems to get it to show up again. It's not the battery and the suggestions from Google results like re-pairing the controller via the phone app haven't worked - it doesn't even show up there. Has anyone seen this before and been able to fix it without ordering a new one?

I fixed this. It was the battery

I was 100% confident it wasn't the battery because I had just replaced it days before and did not get any low battery prompts before it started acting up, but as a last ditch effort after the factory reset didn't work, I replaced the battery and it popped right up. Guess the battery itself just poo poo its pants or something. Oh well!! Glad I didn't buy another one

My Quest 2 was doing this with the right controller. Kept reporting the battery was dying when I had legit replaced it two days before. One of the connections is hosed and recessed into the controller. I put some bits of foil to help complete it and its better-ish.

It still goes out if I shake the controller hard or do a big motion, so I don't play Beat Saber, TotF, etc. Meta wanted $50 to replace it.

So Quest 2 is now for playing Walkabout Mini Galf against my girlfriend. She uses my Quest 3 because I have perfected the perfect strike on the controller that jostles the battery back in for 2.

Long story short, I hope yours is fixed-fixed.

0x141 KERNEL PANIC

As much as I love my Quest Pro for face tracking in VRChat, Meta's support is the loving worst.

Controller started drifting in August, put in an RMA for it, sent it in. Didn't get the controller back until the end of September/beginning of October.

Less than two weeks later, the replacement started drifting, even worse than the old one (would occasionally max out forward-left input). I put in a request on 10/18, and it took them two more weeks just to start the RMA. After a whole bunch of back and forth, I was approved for an "advanced replacement" on November 6th. So I filled out the info, sent it in.

Here it is over a month after that and the replacement still is at "Processing", hasn't even shipped. And when I contact support all they can do is go "oh there seems to be a delay" and "this is not the experience we want for our customers."

It's the experience they're getting. :argh: Buy a $400 Quest Pro used and get some contact cleaner because you're sure as poo poo not going to get any timely warranty support on a new one.

Almost four months of this poo poo.

I'm loving Into the Radius with one exception - their simple inverse kinematics are apparently the opposite of the way my body moves. Every time I try to place something in my belt it starts twisting away from me. Kneeling always places my body in front of me in a weird way. They seem to expect a straight back kneel, but I kneel hunched forward which I think is a far more natural way to kneel when scrounging around.

Also just in general when games give me a full body the shoulders seem messed up and the elbows seem to be back by the shoulders. I tried changing height and arm length. I get the same thing in Hitman as well.

I haven't tried it yet myself but The Light Brigade put out an update with graphics settings that take advantage of the Quest 3 and even includes an mr mode and some improved graphics that the Quest 2 can handle.

I refunded this after like 20 minutes with it on the Quest 3...

It seemed like bog-standard "pick up object and put it somewhere else" manipulation puzzles... and the framey animation doesn't read like stop-motion in VR, it reads like it's struggling to render the characters even if that's not what it is lol. But I probably would have tried more but the controls seemed really wonky, like the basic initial "wave your hands to get past the first tutorial step" was a real pain to get through? If I wasn't just playing other VR games like Eleven Table Tennis that had flawless tracking I would have started to think the controllers were having issues but oh well

I played it a bit on PSVR2 but had a hard time getting into it. Maybe I was playing it wrong but it felt like a lot of very finicky long distance pot shotting and hiding behind cover. This makes the scout and pistolier feel very bad. It is entirely possible there is a way to play with a more run and gun way but I couldn't crack it.

Disappointed that they're only releasing it for Quest and not SteamVR. The game is already on Steam/PC but can't be played in VR there.

VR gaming is already niche and exclusives is the last thing it needs.

Mostly frankly pretty uninspiring stuff. The multiplayer games are mostly CoD and blaston clones.

I've noticed a pretty remarkable drop off in active player count in a lot of online quest games, with the exception of Ghosts of Tabor (which is frankly borderline unplayable on Quest, no idea how people put up with this 36fps AppSW nonsense, or how Meta thinks that this is an acceptable performance target for release)

I also don't see a way to recenter yourself when using Steam Link, hopefully things improve pretty quickly. I'd love to give it a fair shake, but for now VD suits my needs perfectly

Its not foveated rendering, its foveated encoding. Its why you cant turn it off. You can eye track it too iirc

Anyone got a battery pack they’d recommend for strapping to the back of a quest 3? From what I understand none of the straps with built in batteries work well. I’d like something that I can play and charge at the same time as well for long endurance sim races.

I'd just get a regular pack with power delivery and strap it on real well.

I haven't had an issue with my BoboVR batteries, but it definitely will not charge while playing.

The Anker power delivery ones work well, both the old 10k redux (25w max) , and the new 533 (30w max) have been great for me. Last nowhere near as long on the Q3 as they did on the Q2, mind you.
