I'm willing to bet that it's an issue of access; if you suggest that Israel will lose militarily, you're betting against a web of MIC equipment/weaponry/vehicles, which means being against the politicians they employ, which means being against the government, and suddenly you can't get interviews or invitations anymore. So you thread the needle by saying "Israel will win and easily defeat Hamas on the battlefield, BUT [actual article I want to write]" Similar to how for a while every Ukraine article was along the lines of "Ukraine is easily mowing down millions of shovel-wielding Russians with nothing but grit and a single handgun, BUT"
