I also think her job on Letterman was somehow given to her to get her out of that life, keep her close by and in the city. Employing her at the radio station or E! would have been obvious. Why else would you go all the way to NYC to model but then just take a job as a Paige? I do believe that Howard fell in love with her and wanted her around at all time because that's how co-dependent he is. And all of this is a big reason why the Stern's and Howard's kids hate Beth. In the history of this thread I can't think of one time someone shared picture of or story of Beth hanging out with her step daughters. When Rae and Ben would visit Howard for a weekend, Beth would just leave.

Angie would sleep until noon, which drove Howard crazy. Beth would go to sleep at 8 pm and get up at 4 with him. Beth is attractive and more importantly indulges Howard in all his crazy routines and eccentricities. And put her relationship with him above any attempt at a career. She even gave up children for him. It was a Faustian bargain at its best.

As someone who thinks the fans are too too hard on Beth (and honestly I'm not defending her, she just is whatever) and thinks Howard is a crazy narcissist (who is a bad partner and has frankly almost admitted to being a bad father), I don't think he is gay. It would be the most legendary conclusion in media history if he outs himself and I would be way too interested, but he just isn't.

I don't really give a gently caress one way or the other, but my dad never went grey (white actually) until he was in his 70s. And then it was within about a year. The Howard Stern Reddit is the perfect example of why I hate Reddit. Those people loving hate the show and everyone on it to an unhealthy level but appear to continue listening to every minute. This thread is more than willing to (fairly) throw poo poo, but I never get the impression anyone here is posting through clenched teeth.

Definitely had my moment of "Stern Show sucks and the only enjoyment I get is hearing fans make fun of Howard's existing show and evolution" phase. My golden era was the Sirius era up until Artie left, but I had been following the show casually since the late 90s. The subreddit seems pretty down about Ralph dying. I went to look how long its been since the last poster posted here to make sure I wasnt being rude and saw he had 46 pages of posts so I looked for myself and Jfc i have 30 pages of posts in this thread. At the time of my first post here i was in my early 20s, hadnt left the house yet, hadnt had a meaningful romantic relationship yet, hadnt gotten my first full time job yet, my mom was still alive (but very sick at the time) aaaaand even despite that Artie had already left the show by then.
