From my perspective, it seems to assume the earth has infinite mass. Back in uni in my econ class we read a paper from some dumbass economist who said basically that whenever we begin to exhaust a resource we will either find a similar, untapped resources to replace it, new methods to extend it (recycling), or technology will advance to where we no longer need it. The paper naturally ended with "if we gently caress up the earth we will just find a new planet".

I definitely didn't mean infinite I mean, made up numbers, there's six billion people all wanting to get paid today, in ten years time there'll be eight billion, is the bitcoin ideal for everyone to get salary reductions rather than increases? How would anyone ever know what a bitcoin was actually worth?

Well, some people who claim to truly get economics do speak of wealth as some infinite pool that can be endlessly tapped, like, you can just generate wealth from nothing, and thermodynamics doesn't apply.

Hi folks, We all know Seraph is prone to returning. I'm going to ask that if you see him, report him and put him in ignore. There's absolutely no reason to engage with him and you're giving him exactly what he desires by continually talking to him. As a reminder, he was originally banned and permabanned for going DEBATE ME BRO over how to define the age of a minor, which is disgusting. If you continue to, we're gonna have to deal with it in different ways. I ask you just follow the above and we'll take care of him as soon as we can. Thanks!

I’m not sure if I missed it but lol and also lmao, Yearn Finance accidentally swaps its entire treasury, asks nicely for the money backquote:Periodically, Yearn Finance converts a small quantity of its treasury tokens into stablecoins to spend on operations. However, something went terribly wrong during this process when they went to perform the swap and erroneously converted the entire amount — nearly 3.8 million Ip-yCRVv2 tokens — into a stablecoin.

That link to the Yearn screw up led me to this hilarious hack from last month.quote:The KyberSwap decentralized exchange was hacked by an attacker who stole large sums of ETH, wETH, and the USDC stablecoin. Altogether, the assets are valued at around $54.7 million. The attacker was able to exploit a complex bug in a feature for liquidity pool providers. Prior to the hack, KyberSwap had approximately $80 million in TVL.
