Oh yes, I forgot that may not be a thing everywhere. Over here getting picked to be the St. Lucia in your school's or church's thing is a big honor in some circles.

Lucia's Day (or St. Lucy's Day if you're a turbo weirdo who has to localize everything):

quote:

Saint Lucy's Day, also called the Feast of Saint Lucy, is a Christian feast day observed on 13 December. The observance commemorates Lucia of Syracuse, an early-fourth-century virgin martyr under the Diocletianic Persecution.[1] According to legend, she brought food and aid to Christians hiding in the Roman catacombs, wearing a candle lit wreath on her head to light her way, leaving both hands free to carry as much food as possible.[2][3] Because her name means "light" and her feast day had at one time coincided with the shortest day of the year prior to calendar reforms, it is now widely celebrated as a festival of light.[4][5] Falling within the Advent season, Saint Lucy's Day is viewed as a precursor of Christmastide, pointing to the arrival of the Light of Christ in the calendar on December 25th, Christmas Day.[1][6]

My experience with fake beef is that it tastes almost exactly like the cheapest, lowest-quality beef you can buy. The fake chicken did taste quite like chicken, but not any particular part of the chicken, more like an average of the entire bird. I didn't mind the fake chicken, but due to its lack of structural integrity it wouldn't substitute well for many of the things I use chicken for. Chicken soup or maybe a stew would be ok, but anything else would be a sretch.

I guess they don't teach probability in space cadet school. Although the probability of getting heads twice on two consecutive coinflips is one in four, the probability of a second heads after the first flip has already come up heads is one in two; the probability of getting heads on any individual coinflip is always one in two, no matter how many coins you have previously flipped as the previous results have no influnce on the later ones. After the first meteor hits, the odds of a second one hitting are one in 350. After the second meteor hits, the odds of a third are... one in 350. Assuming conditions remain unchanged, the odds will always be one in 350.
