Ruby kinda just took a lot of insane things onboard very quickly with zero resistance but that's a minor criticism because that episode was just oozing Christmas charm and was an utter delight, particularly when they started singing. The bit with the Doctor and Ruby's mother (Carla?) in the kitchen was fantastic.

Right now I'm about 50/50 on whether that little wink to camera was just being cute because it's Anita Dobson in a christmas episode or if that's setting up something for a later story. On the whole that was a fun ride and Ncuti was everything I'd hoped he would be. Just full of energy and fun and the joy of adventure, and he has a wonderful fizzing energy with Millie that bodes well for the series proper.

A fair amount of obnoxious howling laughter was had by me for pretty much all of that. What a gas, truly. Weird and wonderful and nutty as a fruitcake and of course, full of that RTD heart that's all important. Didn't even mind the Timeless Child callback stuff Rusty still taking that half baked idea and running with it, Gatwa giving it a fair amount more pathos in such a short amount of time than Whittaker was ever allowed in the however many episodes that followed. Yes. Fair enough.

That was great. Mini Boat was sad that the goblins didn't get to eat a baby (he's that kind of five year old) but seemed to enjoy himself. He said the fifteenth doctor was the coolest and the entire family let out a collective groan at having to wait for May for more Gatwa

Not sure we've had that since Hartnell wished us a Merry Christmas. drat, that episode was great. Gatwa's perfect.
