However, the group inbox for my department that is monitored by me and three other people has 100+ right now.

And wouldn’t you know it, the last time someone addressed it was the last day I was on the clock.

It's certainly possible, since everything on the internet sucks. At least in the case of Wicked Clothes, they credit an artist and have a whole portfolio of other items in the same art style that are for sale through them. So either they've worked with him (or he's uploading them / a third-party seller), or they're really flagrant about the theft.

Whereas this one on Amazon is definitely, 100% stolen. It's even through the Amazon Merch program, which is their version of CafePress with all the same levels of quality control. :v:

Just for reference, feel free to report stolen poo poo (or illegal poo poo) on Amazon. Their robots do react relatively promptly because the site's incentives are much more tilted toward "just remove it" than other tech platforms.

There was a pay mix adjustment. Now I have a higher base salary (around 10% increase) but a lower guaranteed year-end bonus. The total remains the same, but this is usually a good thing right?

If the bonus is guaranteed then it's just a push, no difference. Some people erroneously think bonuses are taxed higher but they aren't. There's a difference in withholding but it comes out the same in the end.

Yes, having a higher base salary is preferable to the same amount as a bonus, even if it’s guaranteed. It’s money now vs money later, you won’t lose it if the company goes under, and it’s an easier figure to base negotiations on.

Banks often don’t care about stuff like bonuses (or RSUs etc) when getting approved for mortgages, I found out a while back. Definitely better to have the higher salary imo.

Don't forget the fact that you can be terminated just before annual bonuses pay out and they owe you none of it (based on very cursory googling - could vary state by state).

Happy new year.

Positives of working Jan 2nd: Nobody is around yet, so it's a semi-vacation day anyway
Negatives of working Jan 2nd: Learning all the absolute horseshit that people managed to pull off during the week nobody was even supposed to be here. I'm putting out fires from when nobody was here.

These aren't from people who had to be on-site like the cleaning crew or engineering projects team, either. These are people who should have been off having a vacation and instead decided that no, they'd rather modify business processes and make new procedures effective without talking to anyone who might know why all of their ideas were terrible and shouldn't be proceduralized. gently caress's sake, take a vacation.

In conclusion:

I've had conversations about promotion with my boss this year. They announced two today. While I haven't had my year-end yet (where I would be told about said promotion), it does not look good for my chances this year :(

Also, love coming back from break to have another department's lack of communication cost me the entire morning figuring out what happened and then do damage control for the client after.
