I am trying to think of someone who got the “offensive genius” tag, had as much talent on offense as Smith did, and just absolutely wasted it. Maybe the guy the Bucs had before Arians?

So what’s the outlook on Bieniemy? Is he a highly sought OC given Howell finished with as many picks as TDs?

Dirk Koetter was pretty good at coaching offense. The year he got fired the Bucs averaged 25ppg which was 12th in the league. The defense sucked rear end and was like 31st and that had been the biggest issue since Lovie (and constant Jameis turnovers). Then Arians came in and the 30 for 30 season happened.

Unpopular opinion but I actually agree with Arthur Smith on this one. Imagine being a DT who sees the O in kneeling formation only to suddenly find yourself on your rear end with your leg bent behind you on some Johnny Knox poo poo. Forget the score, it was a dumb play that could’ve gotten someone(or several) seriously injured. If you’re gonna run it come out in an according formation - not the kneel. Hope DA gets fired too lol

That’s kinda on Allen too, the players asked him to try and get Jamaal Williams the TD and he refused so they had to line up correctly in victory formation or I assume the coach would’ve just called time out

I thought they were lining up for a tush push not victory formation, but at least under NCAA rules saying you are doing victory formation then running a play is an unsportsmanlike conduct Might be that the refs were just like "it's the last play of the game" but I wonder whether there might be fines

I don't believe in Nagy like, at all, but I feel like you have to at least give him some guys who can do poo poo like catch balls that hit them in the hands and line up properly before you fire him.

But other than some people whining about it I am unaware of this rule. e: could be a specific rule I don't know about at end of games instead of end of halves, the NCAA has always been overly worried about running up the score. Grittybeard posted:This was from this year in the NCAA: I think it's less running up the score and more player safety. The defence needs to trust that the O isn't going to do anything when they go victory formation, otherwise they would be well within their rights to full blitz and take the QBs head off/cut the Online's knees off every time. If teams are running plays out of victory formation, then Schiano is just ahead of his time rather than a dick out to hurt guys. Victory formation comes with the agreement that the game is for all intents and purposes over, let's just get it over with and get everyone home safe. Don't be the rear end in a top hat that mashes betray in the prisoners dilemma and ruin it for everyone.
