If the plan is for the IDF to stage a ground invasion Hezbollah is going to see that coming from a mile away. There's so many ways for this to go sideways, but I guess they know that if they're already bracing for thousands of casualties. It's obviously something they've been planning for a while, but I suppose the attack on Maron Air Base is accelerating the plans because they can't tolerate Hezbollah doing strategic damage to Israeli air defenses.

The closest exhaust is rising because it hasn't had time to cool down enough. Exhaust vents probably branch off to disperse the smoke and maximize cooling.

Thats why the fire is down low, so the hot air then takes a longer, slower path out and the smoke does not go straight up

The kitchen itself also would've been covered with foliage to keep the cooking area sheltered, which would direct even more smoke towards the vents instead of drifting up like the bit you can see in the video.
