Internet schad from the "Youtube creators drama" thread in Rapidly Going Deaf At the end of last year a Youtuber who makes terribly animated videos about beatboxing cartoon characters which are somehow super popular (he's clocked up over a billion views, wtf) posted a video asking for donations to save his channel because he was deep in debt https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1l_3leCKhw It turns out that he went broke because he spent $50,000 commissioning a 3 minute 'sexy' animation featuring himself and a character from an obscure cartoon called Hazbin Hotel: https://www.thefocus.news/trending-news/youtuber-verbalase-allegedly-spent-50000-to-create-sexy-animation-of-hazbin-hotel-character/ The kicker: the 'sexy' cartoon is just softcore hijinx, he spent 50k to get blueballed by a cartoon character

I knew youtube economics loving sucked, but how does $50,000 put you in serious debt with a literal billion views? Also I don't know what animated porn commissions should cost, but $50k for three minutes seems high. You could just pay an actual human capable of imitating whatever the voice of the character is for somewhere between a one hundredth and a tenth of that while looking at a picture of said cartoon character.

Tagra posted:I think I've told this story in a previous schad thread, but to contribute to caution-tape-trespassing-chat: Eugh, this poo poo. Having done a lot of work in events in public spaces, this loving poo poo... Two notable situations: - Once in the CBD, we had cordoned off a part of a walkthrough part of a building between two main streets. Kind of like a # shape, and there was only a small part of it we blocked meaning there was another path that meant the lean pedestrian flow was unimpeded, if not for entitlement and stupidity. We were loading up these huge dollys with stacked LED panels on metal frames, near 7 foot high, 3 foot wide, heavy as hell. They take a bit of effort to get rolling, so stopping suddenly is out of the question. We go the first one going, my pulling from the front, and as soon as we're rolling I turn around to see this suited twat directly in my path trying to get past us even though there was clearly no loving room in this clearly sectioned off area. He manages to get a the start of "I just need to get over th..." before I just started barking "Back. Back. Back. Back. Back" directly at him sending him stumbling back over through the gap he had made for himself in the barrier we had made. Apparently he thought he might challenge a 6'4 goon in hi-vis and a hard-had leading something the size of a commercial display fridge but rightfully backed the gently caress down immediately. - Another time, packing down an open-air site in the city parkland, again we had fenced off our area, all wearing PPE, surrounded by cases, and using an all-terrain forklift to load up a truck when all of a sudden there was a woman pushing a pram directly between the loaded fork and the truck itself... Apparently, WE were in the wrong according to her as she was ushered back to the other side of the fence. They're like sheep, if there's a hole in the fence, they will all wander through it. Some just make the hole in the fence first.

From awhile back but I'm catching up on the thread. My mom showed me an article about how my great great grandfather got drug by a train. "Dragged along for 400 yards over the ___er ballast of a railroad track, ___apped(trapped? maybe) against the ties, stripped of nearly every vestige of his clothing and then cut to pieces was the awful manner in which death came" Later on in the article, spoiled for what happened to his body. "They had to pull him out in fragments. His right arm had been severed near the shoulder and the right leg near the hip."

There's two different kinds of 3D home printing, filament printers and resin printers. Filament printers are relatively quick and cheap and the models come out pretty much ready to use but they have very noticeable print lines and are poo poo for fine detail - they're handy for large terrain pieces but awful for small figures. Resin printers work in layers than are thinner than a human hair and can replicate extremely fine detail in high fidelity but the resin is moderately expensive and smells like poo poo and the cleanup on every model is tedious and annoying. Also if you spill the resin it's hell to clean up.
