LOINS own, Dan Campbell owns, it's cool that they finally won a playoff game in front of their home crowd. Also it's cool that the Cowboys graciously got blown out by the 2024 Green Bay Packers at home, thereby obviating the ref gently caress-up that enabled them to beat the Lions and become the #2 seed in the first place.

nbc is claiming that 23 million people watched that kc miami game on peacock. 23 million is on par with the viewership of the college ncg on espn and about 2.5 million more than the least watched playoff game last year (chargers jags, 20.6 million, normal rear end nbc). that number seems like bullshit to me.

It's too bad Stafford's first game in Detroit as a Ram was also Detroit's first home playoff game in forever. Both franchises won huge in that deal, hopefully Stafford is given a standing O if he returns again before he retires.

went to bed at half time because there is no way I can justify staying up until 4am when I have to be up at 7 for work. Woke up a little bit later to see the Lions were up by one with eight minutes to go. Woke up at nearly 5am for a piss to see a notification that we'd won. Lions bitch

I'm expecting bad things to happen to the Eagles tonight but I can live with that knowing they were in the playoffs longer than the Cowboys. I should note that I'm not actively rooting against the Eagles like some Eagles fans are because that's loser poo poo.

gently caress the Cowboys Now it's time for the Packers to go away because I can't stand one team having good/great quarterback back play for 30+ consecutive years. There's some real sick black magic poo poo going on in Green Bay and it must be stopped.

I remember everyone making GBS threads on the Campbell pick when he was hired a few years ago. Some meathead former tightend who talked about biting kneecaps and all this grit and poo poo, no one believed it because lol Lions. For the first year I gave him grace and it was about what I expected because hey, Lions. When we started last season with that losing streak I was like "oh... Yeah lions again " but man when they started winning and put the NFL on notice... What a turnaround If Dan Campbell ever makes me doubt him again I will face God and walk backwards into hell. Whatever happens, he's given hope to this franchise and that's worth celebrating That being said, we don't have a Superbowl caliber defense and I'm kind of worried about that not gonna lie

Yeah lions again " but man when they started winning and put the NFL on notice... What a turnaround I think a lot of the reaction was just eye-rolling at Campbell's cliche bukakke when we've heard similar things from now-fired coaches. (Long live "exotic smashmouth") Some of it struck me as a lot of out-of-shape fans consoling themselves with the idea that mental and physical abilities are mutually exclusive and that Campbell couldn't possibly have an IQ over 70. Happy that most everyone was wrong. Some credit, incredibly, has to go to the Fords for bringing in him and Holmes and letting them build what we see now. (Holmes in particular should be exec of the millenium) They rightfully get flack for decades of incompetence, but we now see with owners like Tepper around that things can always be worse. Glad they were largely given time to work through the losses and to build something better. The one complaint I have with the Lions after yesterday was their DBs' tendency toward spearing other players. Higbee left the game after a tackle that looked identical to the one that gave the Vikings' TE a ruptured ACL & MCL. The Lions have been relatively lucky in avoiding injuries and they're the heartwarming story right now. Neither will continue if this trend keeps up. Even if you somehow write off the injuring opponents as acceptable, a spear tackle glancing off of Dak during the Cowboys game led to a missed safety and a 9-point swing. It's completely counterproductive. I'm hoping they relearn to use their arms before next weekend. Past that, yesterday bordered on a religious experience. Happy for the team and for all the oldheads in the crowd who've incredibly been giving this organization time and money for decades. While I'd love for them to beat Philly and to make Matt Patricia cry on live TV, everything from here on out is gravy.

indigi posted:Cowboys fans are acting like real Eagles fans rn with their "actually our roster is and has always been poo poo and we only won any games the past three seasons off of luck or bad competition" bullshit It's the least competitive they've looked in a playoff game since mmmmmaybe the Romo game against the Vikings back around 2010. It's year 4 or so of McCarthy, and 12 wins rings hollow when this is the follow through. Quinn's defense looks as fraudulent as it's ever, and you cannot convince me the Diggs injury had this much of an effect. Micah was a nonfactor again, Lamb was a nonfactor, Dak looked bad. Even if you suggest "planets aligned and they had their worst game at the worst time," the stated goal this year make it to the NFC title game bare minimum and they had as "easy" a path as they could get. To not only fail this test, but to do so in such spectacular fashion, should be the end of a few careers in the city. What it isn't is a team winning games it should have lost a season after going to the super bowl. Eagles fans can and should shut the gently caress up.

I don’t know all the drama with lamb and Dallas, but the pregame really went out of the way to disprove things that were very obvious during the game. He looked like he didn’t give a poo poo. Although just from a casual observers perspective and not a cowboys fan, it looked more like dak couldn’t hit poo poo in the first half.

Everybody in the Philly/NJ/NY area knows at least one person who became a Cowboys fan because they were hot poo poo in the early 90's and wanted to front run, including my childhood best friend who arrived to the bus stop one morning in a fresh new Cowboys starter pullover jacket, a top 10 anime betrayal. He's seen the light since but we are a product of events
