While it's a shame that it funnels some money towards meaningless stuff, I figure that it's good to have a hobby, and DSA is a good hobby for some people. I view it similarly to "a college club, for adults." Just a college club that some people think Really Matters for some reason.

I joined an IMT branch in my area despite my reservations about their position on China since they were the only communists actively organizing here that I could see. I figure it won't hurt to get experience organizing while developing my own education enough to come to my own conclusions. If I get expelled for being revisionist at least I'll be a better poster for it.
