also how open is open? because a few of my subs do that like brian david gilbert and captain disillusion but it's not like they're imitating a cartoon character from the 50s that just saw a jessica rabbit type or something actually they're probably the exceptions that prove the rule because the only other sub i have that does thumbnails like that is coffeezilla and while i like his content and respect his investigative skills i absolutely hate his dumb persona

When she goes for the kill, she's ruthless, but there's something about her delivery that feels less smarmy. Anyway, she is a pro-tier subscription because both her easy-layup YEC dunk videos and her "lets talk about cool ancient hominid facts" videos are equally fun in different ways. It's good and fun to laugh at bible kids try to stammer their way around absolutely insane paleontology takes, but is also good and fun to listen to an enthusiastic speaker talk in-depth about their specialty.

zojirushi rice cookers are so drat good. i was too cheap to drop $600 on one imported from japan so I have a chinese one eg sold by zojirushi with same design but made in china. extremely worth the ~200 cad i spent since we make rice 3-4x per week.

I learned about a rice cooking method where you boil it in water for a couple minutes, and then pour it into a strainer and steam it for the remainder. It comes out perfectly chewy and not gummy or anything because the boiling process washes away most of the surface starch. It definitely requires a bit more attention than other methods but A+ would recommend

one feature of rice cookers that's not important for everyone but i really like is that the keep-warm will keep the rice both still nice and importantly food-safe for a ridiculous amount of time. however, that at least is a feature you should only use with a reasonably high-quality one, as you *really* want to trust it to be correct on temperatures etc. if you're going to keep the rice warm for an extended period.
