i have been cycling through coffee makers lately, as usual. I was using a regular drip machine in the fall, but switched to a moka pot over the holidays. now i am in a very lazy phase so I just took my old keurig out of the cupboard (self-ground beans using the reusable filter basket of course)

Are you using natural or honey process beans for the first time? They can taste funky

my desire to find a plant milk that won’t break in my coffee is still unfulfilled. soy and oat both curdle, maybe almond will work better. it’s possible my coffee is just too acidic and I should try a tiny amount of baking soda or something

I just want to have delicious lightened coffee and also reduce my LDLs

it takes such an insanely small amount of half and half to lighten a cup of coffee that surely just using the normal stuff can't have that big of an impact on any nutrient tally

Strange about oat milk, have you tried a barista branded one? I use this in a macchiato all the time and have no issue with splitting:

Oat milk is the GOAT alternative milk cause it tastes better than regular milk in coffee.

I've come to think of oat milk as a superior in lattes and flat whites. still has that nice mouth feel of a full fat dairy, but adds an earthy tone I appreciate. p good in cereal too for the same reason. almond milk is poo poo in all contexts

this post motivated me to get my next #cortado with oat milk as a little experiment and treat

a fine idea for a splash of luxury into a flat black coffee but for milkier offerings like flat white, latte or cortado seems excessive to me
