Belichick never wanted BoB. He was hoisted on him by Kraft. Bill wanted/wants an OC who still stick around and build an offense for a few years, he knew BoB was looking to pad his resume to get an HC position.

Someone pointed out earlier in the thread that you cant interview currently employed external candidates that satisfy the Rooney Rule until after the divisional round, so team are interviewing unemployed POC coaches instead. Leslie Frazier and David Shaw at least look the part and wont turn too many heads if they interview for HC.

AAAAA! Real Muenster posted:Vrable wont go down to DC now that he has been a HC, I imagine. Also, Packers wont fire their loser DC this year after MLF endorsed him before the playoffs then they beat the Cowboys in Dallas thanks in part to a pretty respectable defensive performance against one of the best offenses in the league (Dallas was scoring like 40 points per game at home this year). They don’t need to fire him as apparently this is the last year on his contract

I don’t see that unless he does a really good job versus the niners. It’s incredibly hard to live down Bryce Young’s one good game

Supposedly LaFleur put his hand into managing the defense after the debacles so even with success they could still let Barry go if LaFleur feels like he is propping him up.

Also Lafleur and Vrabel go back a while so

If Vrabel doesn't get a HC gig he'll take a year off probably. He will get an opportunity in either NCAA or the NFL if he spends time as an analyst. He's got the kind of on record personality that owners/ADs love

Glenn has his issues, namely in-game adjustments, but the defense is a massive improvement from last year. They're a Top 5 Run Defense with a serious talent deficiency in the back end. I also think he has the tools to make a better HC than Coordinator. I think if a team wants some of that Dan Campbell magic and can't get Ben Johnson, I could see somebody going for Glenn.

They’re bottom of the league in yards per game and points per game despite being top 5 in time of possession. You can blame talent but ultimately the unit he’s running isn’t very good and that’s going to impact his ability to get a HC job. He’s probably closer to getting fired than getting a HC job.
