MB recommending onimai is where I started to lose interest in the channel, and of course the mushoku tensei defense as well, and his naive love of worldbuilding there probably are chill anitubers but they likely don't have a lot of subscribers because they're not talking up the big/mainstream series. there's that whole anituber list linked in here the other day and maybe at some point i'll go through it and see what's worthwhile in there

what gets me are the guys who rec weird pervert anime and then also dock other anime for like, being mildly horny or having one off bit. like mothers basement getting mad at sword art online for using sexual assault as a cheap way to make the bad guys seem evil. which, yeah, but you are the guy who likes mushoku tensei.

Then again, the last anim I watched was Eiga Koe no Katachi and that's getting close to a decade old.

One of the key complaints about it was that it made the characters "look like whores" among other, similar, things; meanwhile the Chinese version of the game almost universally had skimpier and "uncensored" costumes for basically every character. Mihoyo is basically always going to go for profit above anything else, and so if telling those people to gently caress themselves is the way to go they'll do it.

Heads up: For a while he would change the thumbnail and title of his videos a whole bunch, so there's a good chance that you may get the same video over and over again bc of that. That being said, I do like his stuff a whole lot. Kenny please make a video about Kinkyū Hasshin Saver Kids so people actually give it an english sub. I don't know how a show like that gets stuck between "Fully uploaded on NicoVideo", "fully uploaded egyptian arabic sub" and "Paywalled tape rips of the really good castellian dub of it." Monkey Punch made a mecha show and it rocks.

Nice if you're surface level or just getting into it, but utterly useless if you want to something more than flavor of the month. A thing that turns people off from doing anime youtube is that anime rights owners are really really vigilant in their take down requests. It makes discussing anime on the platform risky because you either feature no footage of the show and risk turning your youtube channel into a podcast, or use footage and risk a takedown and copyright strike. Kenny got hit by this on a few of his videos, which is largely why he's stopped doing them.
