Really hard to go wrong with veteran so long as you take the golden toughness shout (not the revive)

A spammable golden toughness for the team that knocks down everyone around, out-yells mutants, fully refills toughness and makes it so both me and my teammates will never take health damage from a stray poxburster or sniper shot.

Or...

You personally highlight enemies for a little bit and do 25% more ranged and weakspot damage so long as you keep shooting and oh oops you had to swap to melee to push a enemy away and it ran out or those 32 gunners aiming at you just broke your toughness and you died.

Or...

You do a little sneaky.

Not to put down shout because it’s extremely good but Volley Fire or whatever it’s called now with a plasma gun and the Focus Target bonuses will absolutely enable you to clear out entire rooms of human (or mostly human) elites and specialists before any horde with them gets anywhere close to you. It’s just limited to using the plasma gun because a reload on any other gun will ruin it so if you’re aren’t using plasma then shout is always better.

Hmm maybe I should try that. Though I feel like that could be overkill since the plasma gun is so good on its own. Personally I run with a weapons specialist build so that I never have to worry about reloading that thing in the middle of a fight, and it's nice to have a guaranteed crit lined up for a fully charged shot after every 3 melee kills.

The plasma gun already basically 1 taps everything if you have the right one and build so I dont think volley fire is really necessary?????

It’s only useful for helping you shoot them through walls, making things that die in one shot to die even harder in one shot is just for funsies.

Having the right plasma gun is a pretty big step. But more importantly I'm not the greatest at picking out targets so highlighting everything smaller than an Ogryn can be pretty important for murdering everything smaller than an Ogryn in 1 volley fire. Anything human sized can disappear behind a horde.

I've only used one since November and yeah, if I try to aim for a head it'll miss

weirdly, if I aim for the heart and hip fire, I reliably headshot with the second round of the two round burst and that fucker is dead unless it's an ogryn

As close to 380 modifier value as you can get, as close to 80 power/stopping power you can get, 25% vs flak, gets hot for 50% crit chance, rest to taste.

Ideally want to hit breakpoints, with flak you start to 1 body shot bombers, with maniac you can charged shot a mutant in the face and 1 shot it, but if you have a perk giving you 50% crit chance you'll 1 shot regardless of breakpoints half the time, but it's pretty important to kill bombers and flamers asap.

People say thermal resistance is very important on the plasma but I don't see it, so long as you can fire off 2 normal shots at 80% and one charged shot at 80% thermal resistance ain't going to be doing anything for you since I find myself sitting at 80% with a second of venting at 100% almost all the time.

this slaps, thanks. On my first try, rolled up a real solid Rashad which is a weapon i haven't touched since my first time loading up the game and it feels so much better with the right blessings. Played it with kraks and topped the kill and damage chart in a hi intensity shock troop game. I think part of my vet problem was using slow and clunky weapons like power sword 3 and kant for too long, this felt a lot more fluid and smooth.

Thx for all the other ideas. I wish i had a decent knife to play around with and try that stealth build, it's one of the weapons that never shows up in the shops for me and haven't invested into crafting one yet.

A 4.7 GB patch just dropped.

Notes indicate some pretty minor hotfixes, so as always I wonder whether it's just spaghetti code or if Fatshark also made a bunch of unannounced updates.

I'm not playing a match until evening in my time zone, but I logged in to check. No new cosmetics, but the game did force me to agree to the EULA again. That's new.

Vet stealth is pretty strong honestly, like zealot stealth I think the stealth is the least important part of it. What you get if you invest in it is two charges of full toughness regen, aoe shooter supression, increased damage, and toughness damage reduction. Only downside is that takes up more points than shouts 2.

I have not given the stealth a real try yet, every time I try to come up with a new build I just land right back at the shout for everything it does for the team.

Same here, though if there is already another vet in the lobby who has Scavenger & VoC then that's always a good time to dust off the stealth build. I've been using this and it really comes in handy sometimes, and it's just a lot of fun to zoom around everywhere and rescue your teammates (who might not have needed rescuing if you were using a shout build instead but let's move past that).

None of the auras stack. But the base versions will stack with the upgraded versions, so Scavenger will stack with Survivalist one time. Whenever you have two players running the same aura, it's a complete waste aside from when someone is out of coherency.

Yeah, probably. The baseline sword has tons of cleave, but its damage can suffer against elites and armor. Better to stack raw damage.

Maybe replace Savage Sweep then? It's already a horde clearing machine and Wrath does a lot to stack up Cleave.

You don't need any extra cleave for the heavy sword at all, so even though these perks aren't great it'd probably be most impactful to replace both blessings. Headtaker is always a no-brainer, and I think these days people like putting Deathblow on the MkIX since its attacks are very convenient for lining up multiple headshots with. Though if you prefer to just mash then Rampage is always a solid option.

You never want cleave blessings on heavy sword. You want Headtaker (bis) and either Deathblow (brutal momentum but for heavy sword) or Rampage (+power when you hit 3 or more enemies)

Power increases cleave, but it also increases damage and impact.

Homeless Friend

yeah the blessings are sorta set in stone for the HS, do you need +maniac to oneshot a mutant? I think its fine without it as long as you score a headshot, which isn't as rare as you'd think. Never really had problems with the berserkers since you can actually dodge their attacks in DS. Been meaning to pour plasteel into a HS thats +25% flak/armor since dodge-dancing crushers using the alt attack is the biggest annoyance with it.

Fixed a crash which could happen when trying to display information of a player which was still entering the Mourningstar.
Fixed an issue where enemies that weren’t aimed at could be hit by fully automatic weapons while aiming down sights and using a gamepad.
Fixed an issue where the Agripinaa Mk XIV Quickdraw Stub Revolver did not display any information under the “Reload Speed” stat when inspecting the weapon.
Dev note: The issue was only affecting the UI; the Reload Speed was correctly modified by the stat.

Fixed an issue where Poxbursters could fail to be staggered by a Psyker Force Sword push-attack if hit at the very outer edge of the attack effective range.
Fixed an issue where hair was incorrectly removed when equipping the Psyker “Deimos MK VIA Rebreather” and “Deimos MK VId Rebreather” head gear cosmetics.
Fixed an issue where music failed to play during the Monstrosity attack in the end event of the Consignment Yard HL-17-36 mission.
Fixed various uncommon crashes.

If you run something like psyker jazz hands, bubble and gun+force sword maybe you could make it work?

I think gaze is bad for pure shooting, it takes time to build up and easily drops to reload time. I go with bubble (or wall) + destiny stacks for gun psyker, and gaze + warp charges for melee.

They did just do a hotfix this week so you'll need to toggle mods back on if you hadn't already.
