So is it true it doesn't matter how much wards or whatever you have at the end of these vault dungeons? As long as you have 1 you'll get the extra chest? Missed opportunity there to have it act as a juicing mechanic.

As long as you have 1 you'll get the extra chest? correct. they would have to have you lock in the amount of pearls you use up front i think, but could otherwise use this same system also, not all the vaults are built the same. the hawezar one (ink?) has ~3x as many trap rooms as the copper vault and the rewards at the end are the same. additionally, copper has a path where you have to kill one obelisk, dodge nothing else, end up in the final trap room, and can stand in the bottom left (as you enter) corner and not have to dodge anything there either. you'll want an unstoppable source in case there are fear or ice pull/spike mobs, but you can just stand there to wait out the timer, end guardian will walk over to you, and once defeated, will stop all the traps finally there is a point where you can no longer put in pearls into the pedestal but it isn't immediately. i went a couple rooms in and popped some barrels before realizing i didn't have the buff. i wonder if you can just clear to the end and grab the buff after everything is dead

im playing since my wife likes diablo, though we went back to 3 for season 30 and I think shes leaning towards going back to playing that more, I think we hyped up D4 to play co-op for so long that its hard for her to accept that shes not enjoying it. these are the only 2 games she plays so I think shes bummed out about d4 edit: shes more of a player that something drops in d3 that has a green up arrow on it on console she equips that poo poo, doesnt like looking at stats and just wants to blast and get legendaries. D4 definitely doesnt lean towards her playstyle

it's the same problem as season 1 as well. if a trap is about to go off, it's not particularly hard to stop, it's just slow and boring. i'm glad i haven't run into any traps that outright stun, but there are lots of knockback effects which are essentially the same if i had to guess the idea with the traps, especially those that create "safe corridors" or alternate lightning on the ground back and forth, is to get you to move around, not camp in the same place. but it's causing the exact opposite. i hope there are more/different viable avenues for leveling up the pet without having to do ward chest vaults but outside of creating the gatcha boxes i'm not seeing any yet

I was traveling at the start of season 1, saw the feedback, and decided to skip it entirely when I got back. I’m traveling again and seeing the season 3 feedback, and I think it’s going to be another skipped league. At least Palworld is out to give me something to do until Last Epoch.

People really loved using blood lures to summon huge waves of enemies and bosses for multiple bags of loot that would make their character stronger So in season 3 you can use shattered stones to summon a trickle of enemies and one elite who drops some skill gems you already have for a pet that's usually fighting one leftover guy from three screens ago

It doesn't feel like they're going to implement a loot filter, the line they're going with now is that the S4 item redesign will mean you don't need one It's obviously bullshit, Diablo 3 has the simplest itemisation of any ARPG I've played and even that would benefit from a loot filter Tarnop fucked around with this message at 13:34 on Jan 24, 2024 |

Maybe I've reached the end of my time with D4, but I just can't find a build that feels fun, especially on a controller, that I haven't played a bunch already. I love the crunchy, weighty, big impact feel of Pulverize Druid and basically every Barbarian build, but I've already played those to 90+. I keep trying to make Sorcerer happen, but it sucks not being able to properly aim most of the skills (meteor, firewall, teleport, blizzard, etc.). The skills that are easier to aim on a controller just feel like farting on enemies. I need to bash things! Oh well, guess I'll just do a barb every season.

Controller really brings home how the entire game, no matter what class you play, is just hold basic attack > spend basic attack > spam cooldowns whenever they're up. The first season when I played a druid I messed up my thumb from the amount of holding X and tapping square. The only way to avoid this is weird trick builds that let you completely ignore basic attack by relying on uber uniques. There's very little situational use for the powers, even with something like barb which seems like it should be great at rearranging the battlefield with all of its push / pull movement mechanics. Even something like frost sorcerer ends up being more about easily applying vulnerable than it is cc.

We're less than 24 hours into this new season and there seems to be an overwhelming consensus that the spider pet is boring and underwhelming and traps sucks the fun out of the game. Only 3 months until season 4!

I genuinely hope this is true, because I like to swap between seasonal games anyways. too bad the even seasons are gonna run along tarkov wipes. that said, they put a huge emphasis on nmd, & I strongly dislike the nmd system. unless they straight up remove all the objectives, they're just always gonna suck (in my perspective)

Use the Hello emote when the bot is near and you can pet it! Hit level 30 yesterday, splitting time between the season quest, whispers, and grabbing Aspects. Charging elites or big groups of enemies into walls is pretty fun.

Traps are dumb and bad. They are right there with escort quests in things that nobody likes. I don't mind the spider bot thing. I just hope that it will stay relevant when you get into WT3 and 4. Seems helpful in WT2. And to the person that asked if the spider bot levels, the damage skills scale with your level so the bot does do more damage as you level up. So it's kinda like levelling.

guess i'm done with the season at level 12! went to spend my talent point and encountered the UI / inventory hanging and crashing bug. it was the reason i stopped last season as well. it's annoying with the 1-3 second stutter, downright aggravating with the 1 minute hang up, but unplayable with the hard lock ups. my computer is more than capable of handling this game and has no issues in others. did a full on drivers purge and reinstall to no avail. this seems to be a common enough issue that i've seen it mentioned in reddit, discord, and even here with no official acknowledgement from blizzard. completely intermittent though, i played last season for a few long sessions without encountering it at all. doesn't sound like i'm missing out on much, at least.

I like the vaults. They are pretty neat and something at least relatively new that requires some sort of skill or reflexes. The spiderbot seems pretty boring. It's a nice little buff dispenser and is pretty useful while leveling as a class without a ton of AoE, but it's not especially exciting. The arcane rifts are okay, but they are just slightly worse versions of the blood harvest. They are fine in a void, but you literally just had a better version available 2 days ago.
