Minter is going to join Harbaugh.
Leonard isn't moving from college for anything but a HC job.
Vrable won't take a demotion.

Wink is obviously available, not sure about Evero. That may depend on what happens with the Panthers HC position.

Jaguars had requested to interview him but the Panthers blocked it. I assume they are trying to get an offensive minded HC to coach up Bryce and want to keep Evero since he is considered really good.

Which has me thinking the Panthers and the Commanders are waiting on Ben Johnson then one of them will take Slowik as the consolation prize.

If I'm Johnson that's no choice at all. Honestly, if I'm Slowik I might hitch my wagon to Stroud for another season over taking Head Coach of the Panthers.

Same to both. Its working out well for Johnson (he is still getting opportunities this year after turning down opportunities last year) and Stroud is only going to get better.

Leonhard doesn’t even have a coordinator position in college at the moment. I think he would be more open to it now.

I would not want Slowick or Johnson in Carolina. I feel like Tepper would ruin their minds.

I think the Panthers consolation prize will be Evero, and honestly I'd be fine if they just announced him now.

Canales would be underwhelming at this point in his career, and Raheem Morris would be a bland hire at best.

As far as I know the Seahawks still have a second interview with Evero on Saturday.

I really hope that whoever the Panthers hire isn't chosen to keep Bryce afloat. I'm afraid Dave is going to try to do everything he can to prop Bryce up to prove he wasn't wrong to draft him. We have to be honest about what we've got or Bryce will become an anchor around our necks.

That's basically telling LA "We're close enough that I'll give you a bit of time to finalize the deal but I'm not so locked in that I won't go back out there if you gently caress around," right?

the fact we're talking about it like this means he's already an anchor.

There are two people in the world that think Bryce can be salvaged, and one of them posts in this forum.

I mean, starting Andy Dalton or whatever is also a waste of time because nobody actually thinks they’re going to win anything with Dalton right? Or some random late round pick they take a flyer on? Next year is about the new coach and GM evaluating the roster, who they throw out at QB hardly matters.

I took the octopath less travelered,

And it made one-eighth the difference.
Next year they'll have their own draft pick at least, better to see if Bryce may have a chance with better coaching than tread water with a journeyman, especially when the roster isn't quite there to compete anyway.

Did you see the New York Jets the last couple of seasons? It's hard to evaluate anyone on offense if the quarterback can't reliably provide even QB2-level play. It was a thoroughly demoralizing experience for every player, coach, and fan involved.

Bad, very bad!
I don't think Bryce is irredeemable and there's a chance there's something there.

I also don't think that chance is worth passing up whatever you can get in the draft when you can choose whoever you want because of the season you've had.

The jets have some great offense players despite Wilson being rear end so no?

Ask Jets fans how the last year felt. Or their actual good offensive players who spent the back half of the year fighting back tears in their press conferences.

To marry these two discussions together I'd like to point out the Panthers dropped 30 on Joe Barry's defense then didn't score a point for the remaining two games.

Jets fans and players were miserable when they were starting Joe Flacco as well, so maybe the problem is the Jets coaching staff are clowns who have no idea what they’re doing on offense?

Panthers fans were miserable with Teddy. They were miserable with Baker. Their problems aren’t “not having QB2 level play,” and bringing in a journeyman isn’t going to fix them.

They wasted Luanne on Lucky!

She could of have been so much more but the writers just didn't care!
Giving Bryce another shot is one thing, but they better have a Plan B ready if he still looks like poo poo after 3-4 games. Otherwise it will get bad fast.

Like if it's apparent after a few games that he's made no progress in the offseason, they can't just punt the rest of the year.

I mean they can like draft a QB day 3, but their offense is the corpse of Adam Thielen and DJ Chark. They have as many offensive needs as the Patriots do. They need warm bodies.
