I just remembered I watched the movie Galveston which was also written by Pizzalotto and took place on the Gulf Coast in the town I grew up in It sucked rear end, thank goodness they got Issa on board for this season of TD

Tigers Are Not Afraid is a really good horror movie carried almost entirely by child actors. I would say the movie that comes closest to it in tone is "The Devil's Backbone" Tigers left a much more lasting impression on me than 95% of films. it is brilliant, hosed up and beautiful. To me, Issa Lopez gets the benefit of the doubt on this show

Okay, look, I’m just going to say it. Jodie Foster sleeping around with men is the least believable thing ever. I think she’s doing a serviceable job in this show except any interaction with a man that’s supposed to be sexual in any way. They’re all cringeworthy. The one sex scene was laughably bad. Whoever cast her in this role was an idiot because it was obvious that it wouldn’t work.

I can't believe they spent whatever amount of money is required to get Jodie Foster to do this, and didn't get a better script than this. This show feels like a fan-directed mish-mash of famous horror movies with waaay too many references to season 1.
