I was playing tekken with my 8bitdo ultimate controller just to see the story and i think i might make an effort to play on pad instead of one my sticks for the first time in years.
The buttons feel so much better than a console pad. Sony/xbox buttons feel lovely imo this gen vs this thing.
The dpad isnt exactly ideal but it has a good stiffness that helps keep inputs clean too.

I didn't get a lot of time with the game last night, but I tried out most the new characters a bit. Jun seems promising.

If you play it in reverse it's the exact motions I go through when I wake up and get out of bed every morning.

Game feels and looks good. Reduced load times from t7 are great. That poo poo was so annoying. I'm learning Azucena from scratch (obviously) since I have to wait for my main Eddy to join the cast. She's really fun to use. I need to delve into the specifics of heat more, I can't tell if I like the addition or not yet, it seems too easy to use and to last too long, but it's too early for me to tell I guess.

I've been having a blast trying out characters. Azucena, Panda, and even Paul, who I've barely used since Tekken 3, all feel good to play, regardless of how suboptimally I'm doing it. I've always enjoyed the bears, but T8 Panda is my favorite to date. Get beachball'd.

I played quick and ranked matches for 2 hours without any disruption earlier. Zero issues since they said it was fixed.

When you put it like that it makes sense now.

Also I'm old, I'm playing on normal and the single player CPU is whooping my rear end. It's why my guys keep landing on their back.

I only gave Azucena a quick lookover last night, So I don't fully get her. What's the move against her auto parry sass stance? Just Do A Throw?

Mids so while you could do a launch or a strong mid most people using her are gonna try to not be obvious about chilling in that stance (using moves that transition to it and not being in it for a long time) so a classic df1 would be a good option to check it, especially since if you misread her going into stance you're not very negative if you're blocked. Kinda like how people quick jab eddy to float him out of handstand before he can get going.

Her D 1+2 throw is absolute cheese while people still have no knowledge on her/vs new players in general. Fun to use. Long range high crush throw. It's called an imanari roll irl and i think ufo throw or something in game.

It's only 3 hours long but it's extremely good. best since 4 imo, and a suitable apology for 7's.

Are there autocombos in story mode? Even without the Easy Input mode you can switch to? Because I was mashing the first couple of chapters and I tried to replicate what I did in actual practice and could not get the moves I was somehow pulling off there.

The other SP stuff is character stories and arcade quest. Arcade quest is like a very (very, very) lite version of SF6 World Tour; no open world but basically a good vibes only extended training mode. It’s not terribly long either though.

Ghosts are also technically SP I suppose if you want to fight humans but never deal with humans.

Nah, if you're solely going for single player definitely wait for a steep discount, it's good stuff but far from the majority focus of the game.

that dude.

Got an hour in on lunch on ranked, and 0 crashes but did get a D/C on the start of the 3rd set.

I ran into an issue last night where after rebinding my keys, anytime I went into ranked or practice lobby it would force me into the easy controls. There are a couple of ways to fix it such as setting back to default, and then doing it again. My fix was to bind R3 to turning it on/off since I will never touch that button.

Loving the amount of work into this game... do wish Tekken Ball had online.

If you want to play versus other people and/or learn the game getting a fighting game right away is always a good bet

If you're only getting it for the single player/arcade mode I think it's totally fine to wait for a sale

Two minor gripes but you cant select violet from the lee select screen like before and also the character portraits for everyone are really boring and limited compared to last version. Gonna focus hard on Azu for the moment but messed around with lee for a bit to try some acid rains and when he has heat the acid rain and mist trap dont need perfect timing! Kinda lame imo as watching lee specialists is fun but oh well.

My cheese throw is d1+3 lol, it is a low throw so it's also untechable, and its i12 so it's guaranteed if you connect with ff4 which is 0 on block and +13 on hit and forces crouch
