There is no way the Republicans will pass any sort of immigration bill because fixing something when a dem is in office is a horrific idea. But, I guess they don't really pass bills to fix anything ever.

At this point I'll be amazed if the tax bill with the expanded child tax credit doesn't get nuked too. Fortunately, Biden's Boring Aura has kept it out of the mainstream consciousness sufficiently to sneak through, kinda like the Respect for Marriage Act, Infrastructure Bill, CHIPS Act, and the USPS fix. The Dems do technically have Trump Tax Cuts as hostages for that though.

It’s funny because there was some GOP house chucklefuck bemoaning that they have no accomplishments to point to. This would be a huge one. Even if it is a technically bipartisan deal, they could claim to be the driving factor behind it. And they’re going to squander the opportunity because the rapist with 91 felony convictions hanging over his head is throwing a tantrum. He wants the credit. Even if the country burns in the meantime. “Vote for me and pass away, it’s worth it!”
