The point, though, is at the time when the US surface fleet, its weapons, and its doctrine were conceived, the ability to deliver a ballistic missile to a point target with an accuracy of a few meters was a capability that required expensive, cutting-edge technology only available to a few nation states. Today it is a commodity. That has some very lol & lmao ramifications, some of which we are seeing today.
