Admittedly I haven't watched it since the Olympics a decade ago, but IIRC the gist is it's laterals and dropkicks, but instead of being novelties, those are staple plays and everybody practices the poo poo out of them. If you get tackled, you have to fumble on purpose, and you can't intentionally fumble in a way that favors your team, so they practice fumbling like infomercial grayscale people, right toward their teammates definitely by accident. Throw in group hug jump ball and zipper shove-of-war for good measure. It's a neat sport!

This post made my eye twitch.

Gotta say I disagree with Bryan here. He says he thinks Vince is lying about showing thousands of people texts and thinks not as many people knew as I think knew. I truly think WWE corporate has a culture of abuse and needs to be cleaned out.

He also thinks that Vince didn't show as many people because he wouldn't be that dumb. Dude put his kinks on national TV I think he was delusional enough to think nothing would ever happen to him by showing off his crimes

There is a logic to what Bryan's saying here, and I do think that the utter stain probably didn't run around WWE HQ shouting to everyone about what he was up to. He definitely had an inner circle that he shared that sort of thing with, but I agree with Bryan's take that McMahon's claims of showing loads of his employees was probably part of the games he played with the victim. Bruce Pritchard? Probably knew. Johnny Ace. Probably a part of it. Kevin Dunn? Yeah, maybe. HHH and Steph? If they didn't know before the hush money scandal, they would have had to know after when they investigated themselves and found themselves innocent of all wrong-doing. Jimmy No-Name that works at a desk in the office and has probably never even been in McMahon's office? Probably read the story as it broke while repeatedly muttering "what the gently caress" over and over again.

"McMahon is having an extramarital affair" was probably common knowledge within the company. The elephant in the room that everyone ignored. After all, it's an issue between Vince and Linda, right? But I can believe that people low enough on the ladder probably didn't know much more beyond that, and probably not the extent of abuse the lady was made to endure and suffer.

But hey, that's my wild and crazy scorching hot take on it.

I question Vince showing off the text messages as much as he said he did because it does read as him describing a fantasy but so does a bunch of other real poo poo that's come out in this. Just hosed.

Fans should stop being so shocked at the type of willful ignorance someone will engage in when they're too close to an abusive person's actions and that person is integral to their careers

It doesn't need explaining away on them somehow not smelling the smoke that was impossible to ignore, they just did the always disappointing human behavior of looking the other way and not being the one to take a stand, because doing so would disrupt their careers too much

Why would sacrificing some of their own morality for the sake of their careers be shocking for a group of people who endlessly sacrifice their own physical and mental health for their careers as well, of course they would

The reason why I feel Bryan specifically may have known something is that he's Johnny Ace's son in law and married to one of the Bellas, who I would find it surprising if they didn't experience or at least have knowledge of the treatment of women around them. But at the same time, that makes Bryan specifically a person they'd have made great pains to keep in the dark about it.

Oh yeah, I 100% believe that he told Ms Grant that, along with all the other horrible poo poo he put her through.

I doubt he actually showed a lot of people though, but only said so in order to gently caress with her and make her feel humiliated and degraded.

The337th

I question if anyone who's having a hard time imagining Vince flaunting this poo poo to people outside his inner circle have really spent enough quality time with lovely dudes in a work environment

Especially if you also check enough boxes for them to clock you as a proper fellow man who'd be into that sort of behavior

It's extremely credible to me that Vince would wedge private porn of someone into a conversation out of nowhere just for whatever lovely little kick it gave him to see their reaction

Given Vince's entire history of bully psychopath behavior, I don't even think he'd need to believe some random dude backstage would be particularly into having that shared with them, as long as it was still someone Vince was wielding complete power over

I don't question it at all because he involved a doctor and a physical therapist and used her as a bargaining chip with Brock Lesnar. And had to assure her of the ref's loyalty. Why is he assuring the loyalty if it's a fantasy and part of his control?

I'm thinking specifically showing it to all the tech guys and everyone hooting and hollering. And even then I think he showed it to some and there was some hoot and hollering but that portion also reads like someone who lives in a fantasy world deep in their poo poo.

the hooting and hollering could be very exaggerated on Vince's part as a portion of the sicko fantasy, and the sharing could still be very real because Vince's perverse interpretations of the whole thing don't rule out it happening

Uh, typically, I wouldn't expect a guy to be careless like that around his stepdaughter about the woman with whom he's cheating on her mother, let alone let things go to the point where the stepdaughter finds out any details.

I don't think he would even need that, Vince is absolutely the kind of person who would sniff out someone not participating in his games and suddenly yell "WHY AREN'T YOU LAUGHING DAMNIT". That said, he might just be particularly fond of the seagull/hair dryer pop, or so senile that he can no longer not hear it when he or anyone else makes a joke.

There's a big gulf between "my stepdad is pervy" and "my stepdad is actively involved in repeatedly raping and sexually exploiting a woman"

I'm sure the Bellas were aware of some Johnny Ace creepiness but I'd imagine at the point this all started and went on, they thought he'd settled down with their mom.

Ultimately, outside of the WWE executive sweet, I don't really see the point or value in arguing over which low level people knew what.
