The baby has arrived and already taken America by storm. He was an absolute angel on the journey and your typical cattle dog being of chaos since we got home. Scout absolutely adores him and I’m pretty fond of him too. This is the one second he has stopped moving today.

Earlier today she had a big breakthrough - she had slept on the sofa a couple times over the past few days, but now she actually climbed there while Vilma was already there!  Vilma left after a bit of shared lying down, but this was nevertheless a very encouraging moment.   Fondue has also started occasionally showing interest in playing with some string, although I've yet to find how to get her to really get into it.

It sounds like Fondue and Vilma are doing well! It's normal for cats to need to feel out their boundaries with each other and figure out how much play is too much. Sharing a couch peacefully until one of them leaves is a very good step!
