That's all we can take from that.

It's resulted in some stupid witch hunts. Did it occur to you that Trump has very strong support in the tri-arm community? No, you just jumped to conclusions. dervival posted:Man, I love wearing my incomprehensible garble hoodie/sweatshirt when being used as a political advertisement Genuinely, this is one of the things that they've gotten a lot better at. These images were the lowest of low effort on the shittiest of lovely image generators. The firehose of trash from AI scripting in this election is going to be amazing. We'll have bots learning to make attack ads by filtering bot generated attack ads and they'll be cycling these so fast we'll be getting mailers that make the Necronomicon look complete normal and sane by September. ReidRansom posted:What even is a land line these days? Is that just traditional RJ-11 phone company stuff? Or does it also include various flavors of VOIP lines and virtual numbers, etc? LandLine normally translates to PoTS (Plan old Telephone System) nothing fancy about it, not extensions no VOIP all analog. I'd be shocked if they mean differently.

I do not doubt that Trump is hurting the RNC but I would say this is also a little bit cope. If you look at the election years they seem to raise anywhere between 2x-4x what they do on nonelection years so it would seem that the big deal will be what the RNC raises in 2024 not 2023. For instance look at the years 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020.

dervival posted:Man, I love wearing my incomprehensible garble hoodie/sweatshirt when being used as a political advertisement The amount of processing power devoted to AI in the industry is doubling roughly every three months, leading to some significant gains relatively quickly. It would not be surprising if text is a priority for the image generation companies that is actively being worked on. It is probably one of the biggest hurdles to monetizing the technology, as I imagine one of the key end uses would be dynamically generated hyper targeted advertising, and thus text would be crucial to this. Other uses might be providing users with the ability to create their own ad copy with the technology, again needing clear, correct text. Probably dozens use cases where text is important. Looking at how far AI generative technology has advanced in the last 18 months I would not be surprised if the results of the next 18 months are significant.

Seth Pecksniff posted:It's a good question A recent NCHS survey indicates that 27% of households still have a landline, but I would bet that at a significant chunk of that is now VOIP services offered through a broadband provider and not traditional phone service, and that either the survey didn't distinguish between the two or the respondents didn't. For whatever difference that may make in all this. I'm sure at least some of the pollsters consider all this in their methodology and how they split things out, but also at the same time I almost kind of wonder why they reach out to land lines of any kind at all any more. There are VERY few households, like low single digits, that only have land line service and not mobile. I'm sure they have their reasons.
