I was at an all-Toyota car meet a few weeks ago and someone left a picture of my car on my windshield. I'm not sure if it's actual Polaroid brand or not but it 100% made my day. It literally looks like it was taken in the 90s and I love it. (car is a 1990 Camry wagon)

That looks like an Instax from Fujifilm. We just got one for our daughter, and she loves it, but it is a whole dang dollar a photo.

Yeah but instant photography is cool as hell. Just think of the chemistry behind it! I love it as a singular art piece that has to be of the moment. With all of my film I get to go into a darkroom and print and I can tweak and adjust and make as many perfectly edited copies as I want.

Instax Mini is about $1 a photo, Polaroid is $3.50 (Australian dollars). A lot of people buy them and only use them a couple times so look secondhand for the cameras themselves.

I was at a convention in the fall and there was a guy taking polaroid photos of the cosplays. The photos looked like poo poo and were basically sepia, but it was a cool different thing.

My favorite band came out with a new EP today. They also released two new shirts. I just happened to get a payment from a medical research program today and went "Yeah gently caress it." "Clown College Dropout"  "Bigfoot with Battle Axe Camo"  I now have an Intercourse shirt for every day of the week. Other shirts feature Marshall Applewhite, a Reptilian, the band as ATHF characters, Chris Dorner, and a shirt that simultaneously managed to rip off the cover of two different pressing of the same Jesus Lizard 7". I will not stop buying goofy shirts and you can't make me.

The drain pump in my dishwasher broke. In my attempts to diagnose and repair this, I took a long hard look at the trap on my kitchen sink, and found out why I've been having trouble with the sink draining (the way the pipes were organized created a double trap effect). But taking it apart also broke most of the rubber parts that were only six years old. So I had to buy a new trap from IKEA to fit my weird double sink. The version currently sold doesn't have a second overflow pipe (weird!) but enough of the old parts fit to make it work better than ever now that I've shortened and reoriented some hose and pipes  And my new dishwasher is coming in three weeks  Also IKEA because I want the front to go back on it and everything to fit again gently caress the previous owner of my apartment, and probably the guy before that too

 85 bucks. Already ordered a new bridge, knobs, strings, and strap buttons. New tuners will be next, but the current hardware will suffice for now. I'll play with it for a while and then we'll see about electronics.

Another painting from a different artist I quite liked was €3000, so I actually saved 1700 by buying this one! The artist is called Jan Christiaan van Ruyven. The photos on the site don't do the paintings justice. The actual colors are a lot more vibrant.

 Not a purchase per se as insurance is covering this but a new ResMed AirSense 10. I'm actually excited for the new mask as it's more minimalist and the hose connects to the top of my head, which makes it a little nicer since I'm a belly sleeper.

Those were Philips machines. The filter basically disintegrated into your airways. But yeah, welcome to ResMed club. That thing lowered my BP so much within the first month that my doctor hi-fived me and is looking to lower my BP meds.
