After the 2010 “shellacking,” Obama was ready to help the GOP gut Social Security. The only thing that stopped it was freedom caucus nuts scuttling the deal because they didn’t want Obama to get a win going into 2012.  But seriously, no, Dems should not play legislative chicken with Republican bills in the hope that Republicans step on their own dicks again.
