Teams is the worst except for that the permissions model is broken in some funny way for edu accounts so when I am invited into someone else's meeting at another organization, if I get there before them it lets me be the owner of it.

I switched to the “New” Teams a couple of months ago and it immediately started closing itself every 5 minutes so I switched back to the old one and haven’t looked back. And there were also a few posts in the group team chats asking if anyone’s new Teams kept closing itself lol

Agreed "new" teams seems basically indistinguishable from the old one, at least on mac. It's... fine? Apparently we are switching to the Google suite whenever our MS contract is up, for Reasons. As far as I can tell Google completely changes their video collaboration product every 3 months so who knows what it will look like or even be called by then. I do a lot of work with AWS and can confidently state that Amazon Chime is the worst video call software ever produced. Amazon hard requires using it for any calls with their employees. If you are going to force your employees and customers to use this product you made, maybe invest some resources in making it not a total unmitigated piece of poo poo??? It's embarrassing. I wouldn't get any notifications in the new Teams and after like three days of dealing with that poo poo I switched back. On one hand it was really relaxing not getting message pings or call notices, but on the other people thought I was ghosting them lol

Had a two- or three-month period late last year where I couldn't get Teams to work on my laptop, and company IT basically told me to kick rocks until it was my turn for a laptop upgrade. That was a fun excuse to skip a lot of meetings, at least.

I’m so checked out of my job mentally it’s not even funny. The only reason I’m still here this week is 2-3 very close friends I’ve made here are taking over the role I held, so I delayed giving my notice by a week (Was gonna do it 1/26 and finish 2/9, ended up doing up 2/2 and my last day is this Friday) because I knew they’d be utterly hosed. They are still somewhat hosed for various reasons, but the extra week helps them a lot.

Today is literally my last day in the office, got laid off months ago but the date is still 7 weeks out. I might have 10 minutes of WFH stuff per day until then. Kind of nice to get fully paid for a while to not work, then get severance after, assuming I find a job before I start losing money.

Ok, so the Burritos are going to Universal. We’re driving down I-75, and there’s a billboard asking if we want to drive a tank. I look up the website, and indeed there is a place where you can drive a tank half a mile for $200 and up. I gotta know. My Florida goons, have any of you ever driven a tank before? I won’t lie, if we didn’t have the kids I’d be tempted just for the experience.

There was a park by me that had a great sledding hill when I was a kid. Though right at the bottom it turned into gravel with a wall with a ~4 foot drop right past it, that if it was icy at all you could easily skid into. Safety is for the weak.
