you don't need to dive from them at all tho; maybe if you're using heavy armor I guess? when they charge you just run at and past them at like a 30-40 degree angle, preferably after you lead them into a rock so they run into it & stun themselves

It is true a lot of my dives are due to panicked "oh god I can see their legs on camera behind me!", even in medium armor. But also My curse of jank has let them frequently just teleport up and over walls and large rocks instead of smashing into them :sigh: Even when I am not the one getting chased.

Stop for me, it's the claw!

Now that I've got the hang of it, RR into the leg armour of a charger is super powerful. Chargers seem super polite about letting you line up a shot while they line up a charge.

In moments like that I stop worrying about whether someone is standing too close because i am doing them a favour.

Once more people know to just shoot the wounded leg they will be a piece of cake and it'll be a Democratic Christmas everyday.

I prefer the anti-tank missiles vs bugs just because it lets you use the laser drone, too, and laser drone is so loving good vs bugs. Especially in higher difficulties where you’re doing a lot more scrambling while it maintains its dps. My go-to bug loadout is something like eagle airstrike, eagle cluster, laser drone, ATM, breaker shotgun. The only thing I have trouble with is bile titans cause I don’t really know their weak points well & 2 ATMs isn’t really enough for them, but chargers are super easy now. Uncover a leg with the ATM and clean it up with a single breaker clip. If AC breaks charger leg armor with two correct shots I’m tempted to switch but also losing the drone is rough

:ohdear:
Unlocked the Spear today and it's a lot of fun and puts in work when it decides to cooperate, but I question its overall usefulness because sometimes it decides to just not kill targets, which is a problem when you get a total of 3+1 shots, and the only way to get more is to get 1 missile per resupply pack (the field boxes didn't seem to give ammo to the pack), which means if you're empty and want to fill up it takes an entire resupply by yourself. If you really want to use it I'd bring friends you're coordinating with, and either have them bring ammo packs or grab extra Spear packs from when you inevitably run dry and just straight up call in a new Spear for a refill. That way they can at least get a missile every time they resupply to help feed you.

I actually run the spear, orbital railcannon, autocannon sentry and eagle airstrike if i'm on heavy killing duty. My kills always look a bit rear end with that loadout compared the the laser drone boys but we don't have an issue with anything heavy.

Related - if you have an anti-materiel rifle, you can shoot open the buried shipping crates that have special loot in them. No need to waste a grenade or other explosive. I wouldn't be surprised if you can also use the autocannon or railgun

Yeah tanks and Hulks on their weakspots go down relatively fast with AC. You can also blow of the arms of the Hulk with the AC and then its much less of a priority.

The medium sized bots have armored chests but their robodongs are not so they go down to AC very easily too.

Probably the ATST walkers from the bots

I don't need req, I need hundreds of common supplies :negative:

I really do not want to do 'farming runs' but I fear that may be the far more efficient route, it's way easier to sweep an entire map on diff 3 than it is on diff 9 :/

Finally played last night, fun game. It really does play like the first one but with a different point of view. My daily challenge thing was to kill 20 scouts and I didn't manage a single one, is there any easy way to find out what you're looking for, for that kind of thing? Also; any pro-tips for earning SC? I managed to nab an extra 20 out of nowhere during one of the missions but didn't see how while running around in all the chaos.

It's almost always semi-hidden, either the vaults that have two locks that require two players to coordinate pushing, or a sealed cargo-container that you need to grenade open. It's a trickle but it's there.

scouts are the at-st looking walkers on bot missions

i've been using this guide to figure out all the various enemy types:
https://www.ign.com/wikis/helldivers-2/Terminids_and_Automatons_Guide

super credits, and a bunch of other stuff, can be found in pods marked with a pulsing gold beacon randomly scattered around maps

they also appear in hidden bunkers that require two people to open and half buried blue and white shipping crates that can be blown open with grenades

Scouts Walkers spawn with a decent amount of frequency even on Normal difficultly Automaton missions, and they will die to a single Autocannon round to the cupola regardless of angle. With this strat, I easily farmed 20 in the course of a single mission (being able to insta-gib them from a vast distance before the rest of your teammates can blink does allow you to hog a lot of kills).

If you don't have access to the autocannon yet, three to the cupola with the anti-material rifle will work regardless of angle, but one to the rear will also do the trick.

Been having a pretty good time with the game, and while I haven’t gone beyond hard (5) difficulty, pubbies have been pretty good overall.

I do wish more things were explained in game, such as what difficulty your friends are playing on and the damage/direction of the various strategems. Maybe it will only let you join games at the highest difficulty you’ve unlocked, but I’m still getting used to the game and not sure I’m ready for difficulties 6+.

Some random things I wish I knew when I first started and some personal opinions. Sorry for the long post! Some are pretty dumb so sorry in advance to those I’ve played with~

  • The resupply cooldown is shared between teammates
  • Press e to stop interacting with the door that requires 2 people to push the button.
  • Hold r to change weapon settings. Right click to change options to the right. Mouse wheel for vertical selections (I think?). Can increase machine gun rpm. Turn on lights (if available). Turn railgun mode to unsafe.
  • The underground containers at minor points of interest can be destroyed using an explosive (grenade, grenade launcher, auto cannon) to open up.
  • Can snipe the bile spewer towers with an autocannon from far away to complete the objective
  • The fat bile bugs weak spot is there face. The butt is a trap (but apparently takes full damage to explosives)
  • Chargers. Destroying the armor on the chargers legs then using your primary to shoot it takes them down super quickly. You can walk to the side as they’re charging you and they will overshoot and stop for 5 seconds to readjust. Their butt is also a trap.
  • the first orbital strike is pretty great, and can even destroy the radar station building submission that seems to otherwise require a hellbomb to destroy. Didn’t seem like the airstrike, recoilless rifle, or even the 380mm destroyed it.
  • The other orbital strikes don’t seem great. The 380mm drops seem too random and the range too wide where killing teammates is a high possibility. :sweatdrop: The rail cannon strike seems good for taking out heavy armor targets. Haven’t tried the laser cannon
  • The Eagle strikes overall seem really good. They have limited uses before they have to rearm(go on cooldown) for 3 minutes. The airstrike can close bug nests if they hit directly. The cluster bombs are useful also for clearing areas and making space. The nice thing about those two is they strike perpendicular to where the beacon is thrown. So you can throw it relatively close in front of you without having to completely run away. But be careful of teammates off to your side :sweatdrop:. The 500kg drop looks cool as hell, but I’m dubious about how good it is.
  • autocannon reloads insanely fast solo if you leave at least one round in it. Autocannon in general is amazing for clearing out medium armor dudes.
  • grenade launcher is also really great for clearing crowds and medium armor dudes, but recommend the supply pack to keep the grenades flying. Can press 5 to use the supply pack on yourself.
  • As mentioned in other posts, grenade launcher and autocannon can destroy bug nests from afar, but you do need the right angle for it, especially with the autocannon.
  • Railgun seems great at clearing out chargers. Can easily destroy the leg armor to dump shotgun rounds into it for a quick kill. Highly recommend changing it to unsafe mode. I definitely felt more ammo starved during my games, and couldn’t crowd clear as well as with the autocannon.
  • The personal shield backpack is amazing. Let’s me take a friendly fire hit without immediately dying. Take a charger hit that I didn’t dodge well enough. Ignore some trash for a bit longer so I can railgun a heavy. Tank a stalker hit I missed. Take a mortar hit because I had a trash bug next to me.
