Lots of new players dont understand how crucial it is to not engage patrols as that runs the risk of reinforcements. On bug planet, this can lead to charger/bile titan cascades. Another drawback is when I'm out stealth solo striking objectives on the far side, occasionally teammates, try to sync with me to help not understanding that they are have a large chance to be spotted vs myself wearing light/stealth armor.

I was in a game where a pubbie with mines deployed them at the objective where you escort civvies to the bunker. Thankfully the game booted me out after the first wave of them died horribly.

Goose's rebellion

Is it better to specialize in one type of calldown (Orbital, Eagle, Turrets) or just grab the good stuff from each?

Also is there no way to invest in support weapons like in the first game? Just unlocked the grenade launcher and it could use some more ammo capacity

An upgraded Eagle stratagem set can drop all its charges fairly quickly (4 second gaps between the calldowns, and then restock in 2 mins), so that's a lot of napalm, bombs, cluster bombs, bigass bombs, rockets, and/or gunfire, FWIW.

Just had an extremely bugged run with a bug defense mission. Bugs were barely spawning, we killed the set amount literally 5 seconds before the round was over. Then, for some reason, it spawned two pelicans that got in each other's way and neither could land. We ended up pushing one back with explosives and the second one landed but angled up 45 degrees so we couldn't reach the landing bay.

We completed the mission but no one extracted and it said we failed the operation even though we got the rewards. Very strange. I wish I was on my computer so I could've recorded it.

I don't think I'm using it right.

For what it's worth, the Tesla Turret ALSO chains between targets, and it does not distinguish between friend and foe.

We completed the mission so our electricity fried corpses will remain a monument to democracy, but it would've been nice to extract those resources we collected. Oh well! Freedom isn't free!

The bug defense missions need to be retooled badly. Even when they aren't glitching out they are unbelievably underwhelming. if they were a random point of interest on a regular map they wouldn't even be one of the more noteworthy ones.

The thing is that we were a long way away from the Tesla Turret, we were using it to block one of the entrances to the extraction zone. But then it just randomly chained across a lot of bugs that were coming in from the other side, and I guess one of them wandered too close to the Tesla, and the chain lightning nailed us from ridiculously long away.

We swore never to use Tesla Turrets again. Proper democratic Autocannons and Gatlings may shoot you but only if you get in their way.

I swear the 120mm barrage targets teammates. The amount of times I've dropped it right on an outpost and ran away only for the artillery to seemingly follow me, racking up multiple team kills without a single bug hit, is too often for coincidence.

I need to get that +30% throw distance armour set from the Super Citizen Warbond ASAP because the times I've accidentally thrown an orbital strike beacon into the nearest tree instead of the distant bug nest is quite high.

What did help is asking one of my family members to create an account for me which they managed to do with no problem (just a simple 2 question captcha and a much easier one than my brain melter), and then i linked that to my steam account. So that's part done, at least! I repurchased the game, confident i had solved the problem and excited to play, finally got to do the tutorial and get my cape (which took multiple tries since I kept getting booted due to network issues)... and discovered that attempting to select a mission from the mission select screen instantly crashes my game.

Man, this is a bad week. It started out with blood and sewage and really hasn't gotten any better since then, I just wanna shoot some goddamned bugs and chill out for a while. ;_;

It seems steam has been making GBS threads itself just as much as the game from my end, so hopefully it's a combination of stuff and this too will pass and you'll get shoot bug.

When one of the negatives is Stratagem Scramble you can’t tell what you’re getting until you finish the input. So input, check, put it away if it’s the wrong thing and try again.

Or just don’t run anything with that modifier cause lol lmao

Pillbug
I want to love the stun orbital, but it seems a letdown in spite of the on paper usefulness? Or maybe suffered the common curse of "only tested this with endgame perks",

Only 75 second recharge and 2 second call in, wow!... That seemingly can't even stop breaches from happening if I rely on "And now they are stunned" to, you know, stop them from doing that without calling in the wrath of god.

It got even more awkward when I did a quick solo Medium charger hunt with the thought process "Stun orbit will let me easily line up a solo Recoiless shot + Eagle rocket!" Nope.

Both charger targets make it out of the blast zone at the last instant, eagle rocket seemingly botches the shot after my solo recoiless opener, and I am scrambling around trying to cook grenades to finish the job faster because if they are 'bleeding out' they sure are taking their sweet time! (Defender I love you, but you can't panic dump your whole magazine into an armor peeled monster so hot).

Seems to be more helpful on random teams at least. Though that may be the fact a mildly annoying static zone is less dangerous than "We all know the mines are coming. We want the mines to be coming... Aw gently caress what have we done" incidents. Eagle Rocket has also been a good boy on teams where the odds of it finishing off something big increases if I am not looking at the explosion when it happens.

Considering I have called in a resupply like a dumbass thinking it was eagle Rearm, it is going to suck when the game is INTENDING me to get my strats mixed up.

Somebody actually helped me with my autocannon!... It wasn't as good as both of us using our autocannons solo at the same time, turns out. Being a 2 man team probably skewed that result.

I made the mistake of sending myself and a friend to an operation where the random modifier was "orbital stratagem scatter increased" and the amount of times he'd call in a 120mm strike, the first 8 shots would fail to kill anything, and the final 9th would suddenly land on my head with perfect accuracy from 100m+ away was hilarious.

It's great when stuff is stunned and you can just unload on it, but the way I look at it is I could just use that slot for something that explodes the stuff to begin with and then i dont have to worry abiout first landing a stun and then landing another strat or spend time shooting. The EM turret is tempting sometimes because mortar stunning enemies in an area actually seems pretty useful for defending an objective or drop zone or choke but I haven't tried it yet. If you're fighting chargers just save up for the anti-tank missile; it's one of the best ways to fight them bar none cause it leaves your pack free for lazer drone or whatever, and once you get good at dodging & blowing a leg up you're set.

Did some level 7 bot missions tonight & Diligence + Railgun + EM shield pack is really good. I took rocket pods for tanks; might have to figure out another option there cause sometimes they kill them and sometimes they don't, and the railgun doesnt seem to do a ton of damage to tanks even if you shoot them in the vents. Otoh overcharged railgun takes a Hulk out in one hit if you hit it in either the vents or the red cockpit on the front of it, which was really, really, really great. Also deals with all the other medium armor bots really well; most of the time you kill stuff in either 1 or 2 hits.; Make sure you're shooting stalkers in the cab area so you kill the driver; if you shoot the legs off the driver still pops out and is alive.

What is actually the use case for the laser support weapon? It seems OK against trash enemies, but no better than the machine gun. And it seems completely useless against anything tougher or more durable.
