i wanna say it boils down to politics and the guys were just behind the ball in terms of wrestling. They were still doing things the 1970s nwa way. Jim Heard also hated the number one star of wcw Ric Flair, thought he was an old bastard. JR and others agreed and this struggle eventually leads to flair going to the wwf. This also created camps and these camps just burryed each other.

The longevity of this thread is a testament to what a splendid poo poo show the WCW was. TNA, which has often involved the very same people, never quite came close.

When Arn came back to the WCW in 1990 Tully was going to come with him, but wasn't signed due to a failed drug test leaked by the WWF. I recently read the WCW had approached Tully to return in either '92 or '93 but couldn't agree on a contract so that fell through. Is this true?

Arn and Tully had agreed a deal to come back to WCW in 90 and then WCW found out about the failed drug test (for cocaine) in WWF, so they pulled the contract. They also changed Arn's deal to pay him less because he would be less popular without Tully. In 1993 WCW wanted to re-form the Four Horsemen, they offered Tully a $500 per appearance deal and he said no. By his own account, Tully was an absolute dickhead rear end in a top hat back then through a combination of his ego and the drugs so that probably played a part too.

One of my favorite stories about Tully is from Ricky Morton. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGFl8Vk0-GY Imagine tuning into the 700 club only to watch your former coworker and friend end your marriage by outing you as a bastard lol Here is Tully finding out about it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IrEaHj9lng Mr Hootington fucked around with this message at 12:56 on Feb 16, 2024 |

Regrettable posted:Lol coke only stays in your system for about 2 days. Dumbass couldn't wait two days to secure a job. The drug test was a random test in WWF at a house show in October 89 in the middle of the break-up/departure angle, so its anyone's guess how random it really was. Arn and Tully were already on their way out of the company, but this caused Tully get turfed out prematurely and its why Bobby Heenan took his place at Survivor Series. WCW found out about it later, allegedly someone in WWF leaked it.
