I convinced 3 other randoms to do the gone in 360 seconds achievement, so this is confirmation randoms can be trained. OTOH I was in 2/3s for the fire achievement and people stole my drop pod equipment :madmax:

Things could be going better

The only objective I've had issues with pubbies on is the dish alignment one since you should have someone on the console to tell the dish person when to stop. Usually I do it and direct them like I'm helping them back into a parking space.

Bought the Slugger, disappointed. Admittedly I am comparing it to the Breaker, but I had assumed it would be better at dealing with medium armoured enemies, but it just isn't, or it doesn't feel like it anyway. So much for it having a hidden "Medium Armor Penetration" trait.

Really hope the devs do a balance pass and bring stuff up to the Breaker, or make it more specialised - e.g. better vs armoured, weaker vs chaff, rather than dragging it down, as I feel like it'll be a chore killing stuff with the amount that gets thrown at you with a Bug Breach or Bot Drop.

As said above there is a very distinctive sound when it is in the alignment window. As long as you stop rotating it within a second or so of hearing that, you're good.

You're literally describing first edition Dark Heresy. You play a party of ultimately-expendable low-tier Acolytes for an Inquisitor (who may or may not care to ever interact with you personally) and have to navigate the crapsack bureaucracy of the Imperium in order to sniff out the enemy within. Damage is high, health is low, and characters (start) kind of weak. Oh, if one of you is a Psyker there is a non-zero chance when you use your powers that you end up summoning a daemon (which usually results in the classic Total Party Kill).

Does anyone else sometimes get a bug where their primary or secondary weapon just goes poof? I'm not using the drop menu either because I rebound that away from everything else but suddenly I'll just notice I am missing one of those weapons for the rest of the round.

A dude I played with had it. He said it might be because pubbies join and leave the game rapidly before Helldive, it bugs something out. Not sure about any of that, but it's what he said.

If you mean the frame generation component, it wouldn't be a good fit. This kind of game would feel terrible with the latency it adds. Aiming would go in the toilet.

Though I do think it would benefit from some more advanced upscaling options.

I've heard there's a chance to drop your gun when ragdolled.

I can't confirm it though, the only time I lost my primary that way it was in the middle of a pile of guns I dropped on previous lives so I had no idea if I dropepd it or it just vanished.

It definitely happens with the Ballistic Shield backpack though, which is the one big problem of using it :argh:

My brothers and I were out of revives, 20 seconds from extraction, and one of them threw a grenade which perfectly bounced back off the head of an armoured guy and killed all three of us. This game rules.

I did some hard missions with pubbies last night and a dude with a jet pack insisted on landing on top of objectives and raining fire down from there.

The problem is that we were destroying these objectives and he wouldn’t come off em. We could call a hellbomb and he’d stay up there. We’d activate it, run like hell, and he’d still be up there shooting at robots until the very end. He probably burnt through 10 lives himself by just being ON the objective every time.

I've had it happen and I couldn't pick up any other primary weapons either. Luckily it got fixed after I died, but trying to pistol a charger really soured my already negative impressions of trying to fight bugs with the early starter gear.

I just figured this out, but others may have already known about it - for PS5 users (or anyone using a controller):

You can bind a button to "quick grenade" (the only real choice probably being R1) which will just toss a grenade without all of the manual weapon switching.

Had a mission earlier which went pretty smooth. I was doing some solo work and found the artillery gun sub objective. Anyway I probably should have said something to my squad mates about the 3rd and 4th shells being mini nukes because later while we're extracting someone decided to drop an artillery a bit close to us and we cleared all four of us off the landing pad.

I agree, there should be some penalty to allowing that to happen. The pods come down with a shaky trajectory and injure the helldivers before they can climb out, maybe.

I can't remember what media had it (maybe ODST?) but they made it so that when the pods were going down the top of it would turn into an inverse view of what was below them, allowing them to steer precisely on their way down. That would be a good way to show it.

It is weird though, I feel like you have good control over your steering around half the time and the other half you can barely move an inch.

I'm really grateful for how much we can rebind stuff like this and mark but I wish we could unbind things too. I don't need a button to switch to grenade if I have a quick throw, and I don't know where to map it that it doesn't cause problems

Ohhhh this makes sense. I had this happen one match and thought my controller was somehow overriding my controls.
