so actually watching the fourth season of true detective and whats really bugging me about this supposedly being the woke season is that the police brutality is actually significantly more meanspirited and sadistic than the first season yet its presented as a logical and even reasonable reaction to evil and not as a personal failing that only makes further legitimate criminal investigation that much more difficult its seriously really goddamn weird that some of the most blatant psycho copaganda ive seen this side of elliot stabler in law and order svu is presumed to have good politics because it has some token nods to native and environmental issues that have gently caress all to do with anything thats actually important to the story

i also want to note that the "nics just jealous this season had better ratings than his" is a really weaselly factoid because the first season of true detective literally predates the existence of max as a service by several years like no poo poo the fourth season has better numbers compared to when the business model was we dont give a poo poo whether anyone actually watches our shows as long as theyre talking about them thank goodness those dark days of corporate nonsense are behind us now if youll excuse me im going to take a nice long sip of coffee before reading up on the current state of coyote vs acme a movie which surely has a distributor by now thanks to all the public interest

wtf so the ending of this show is literally terrorists murdered a bunch of scientists not for any reasons having to do with their actual political beliefs but as a form of mob justice and the corporation is helping to cover it up because theyre scared theyll get in trouble for lying to the epa about pollution emissions i dont think i could have made up an ending this stupid if i was making a deliberate effort

We have started watching the Halo show, season 1. I never actually played the games, but they're so beloved and iconic that I was excited to see the story. I did a bit of googling to see how closely the show follows the plot from the games and the first like 100 reviews I found were people angry that Master Chief takes his helmet off. I was like "lol, fanboys gonna hate". But actually what those articles should be saying is that Master Chief never puts his helmet on because it's just far too important to get a closeup of him experiencing emotions. I'm still kinda interested but god drat, stop pouting and shoot something already.
